I totally understand. Every time I take Morey's name off of something or do paperwork that I know will NEVER be done again with him on it, I shake! Like a small child I get goose bumps, teary and I shake.

How did this happen? What is happening to my world?

You'll get it done. You know when your time limit is and you'll just do it! Next year will be so different and the year after that. Our world is minimizing, it's not the way we wanted it, it's just the way it is!

I also understand how you feel about all of these "last" time things. It took me 10 months to disconnect my husband's cell phone. It was agony to say the least. I, too, empathize with you Patti. Procrastination is so much a part of the grief journey. As Roz says, you'll get the taxes done in your own time. (Just remember penalties toward 4/15 and that should give you a nice swift kick of energy!) Sigh. Hang in there g/f. Hugs

Speaking of procrastination, I just cleaned out the kitchen pantry here in MT yesterday. It had been on my need to do list for about nine months. LOL The point? When you're ready, or get sick and tired of having a to-do on your plate, you'll get it done. Meanwhile, who cares? Well, in your case, I suppose the IRS will care. :(

Congratulations Dayna.... I have still NOT fully cleaned out Morey's closet. Stuff that I have not seen or used since he passed. I look in, I try to assess it and then I just close it!!! There is a container that has his stuff from when he was a child. I can't face it! I take that back, I could face it, but I'd just look at it all and put it right back. He was a saver of memorabilia and collected things from places he visited; sea shells from Florida, rocks from Mississippi, even some gravel from Oklahoma. Don't ask. If you gave him a Birthday Card, chances are it's in this box! He loved life and loved all that went with living a full one!!!!!

Morey was a very social being. With tons of friends and he belonged to lots of different clubs, with awards; ribbons and trophies. He was a great guy, everyone knew him and wanted to be his friend. He loved photography and took tons of pictures and they're in there. His lettermen sweater from High School, his yearbooks [with signatures from old girl friends] and so much more.

I will have to face this closet one day and make it my own. Just NOT right now!

I understand Roz . . . and that day may be years away, who knows? J's stuff is all still in Schwartzville. Mostly packed (by a neighbor) . . but it's still there. I thought I'd take all to donate last time I was there . . I just couldn't deal . . but had so many other things going on. His humidors are still on his credenza with cigars in them for crying out loud. Coats are all still hanging in closet. Golf clubs (all seven sets) lined up and just sitting. His books on cd's (literally hundreds of them) all still there. I could go on and on. As far as I'm concerned at this point, it is still his house with "his" stuff. Sigh.

I am sure I will get it done. Maybe over Easter weekend... thats the goal any how! Patti

Hi Patti, I am the worlds worst procrastinator! I have filed an extension for years because I hate doing taxes. Sometimes we would get money back, other times not so much. Either way, even if we owed,(like I do now) the penalties and interest seem to be very minimal. The deadline for an extension is the 15th of October. Well of course I didn't get mine sent in til the 16th, but oh well. Hugs and love, Michele

Today I read something, and the one word answer was PROCRASTINATION

The question was: what is ONE characteristic of self-made millionaires in their daily lives? The answer was they DO NOT procrastinate. They just do what they need to do.

This is not saying that procrastination is a good or bad thing...we do what we want to do.
