Any gardeners out there? Spring is around the corner (hopefully). In MT, we are having an unusually mild winter and I've noticed the birds and the bees (yes, that is correct) are coming back already! Decided to start an early garden in the house for the first time ever. I've always lived in the South, 20 years in FL, then three in SC . . so really never had to worry about short growing seasons.
My living room has turned into a greenhouse! Literally (and I don't care). We have these awesome picture type windows that are open on three sides . . . the sun shines (when it does) brightly and warms the room quite nicely. Pulled out an old gate leg table and some stools and started seeds about ten days ago. The lettuce has already needed transplanting into larger containers. Tomatoes (cherry, black crem and other varieties) are ever so slowly springing up green. Just planted some radishes and a few pepper plant seeds. Waiting for them to germinate. This has been so therapeutic and fun!! Watching "new life" emerge from the non-growth and stillness of Winter.
Reminds me of cycles of our own lives. Everything has a season and a reason. Wishing all a beautiful Spring (new beginnings) ahead this year!

I'm excited for your little seedlings that turned to actual veggies! Wait til they find out where they'll be going....some yummy salads!
I have a wonderful patio [where Horton's potty-box is] but, after the morning sun it turns mostly to shade the rest of the day. Between the winds, shade and Horton's nosey nose, there's much chance for real plants except Morey's palm tree and succulents that I've taken great care of for him. Morey loved his patio and would putter on it during his days of retirement. He purchased a waist high palm and planted some wandering jews and succulents in the soil around the little tree and now his tree is about 6' 5" tall and the greenery around it is just loving Auntie Roz's watering can every Saturday. Morey would be very happy to see how well his plantings are doing.
I seem to have a green thumb because the plants and orchids in my office love me too!!!
