Hi, my name is Niya. I'm 15 years old, I'm 5'6' , and I weigh 280 lbs. My highest weight was 313.3 which is how much I weighed a few, about 8 - 9 months ago. I did this on my own, with little to no help from my parents or anyone else. A bit of backstory on me is I was born in a family that literally has no idea what to do when it comes to being healthy. Also, a family that doesn't allow me to go outside barely ever. As a result to this lifestyle, i've never in my life have been at a healthy weight. I've never neen active, never played sports, just stayed at home and ate since thats what my parents rather me did. As i got older, this developed into a really bad case of BED (Binge Eating Disorder) which didn't help my health at all. As my physical health got bad, my metal health got a lot worse. I developed depression, anxiety, and ocd. To this day, i still suffer from BED, but I'm actually self aware of my problem. Even if that would make some peoples' time with trying to overcome it easier, it actually makes it harder because my parents don't want me to see a therapist, they just tell me to 'google ways to solve it' and they don't take any precautions into me actually wanting to lose weight. I started to show signs of prediabetes last year and my parents took more precautions with me, not necessarily my household. They began saying things like, " your sister can have these cookies, you have an apple or some other fruit. Your the one with the problem" which made the "problem" worse. Now at 15, I am self aware of my mental issues but not what I need to do to solve them. One issue is the fact that I do not control the financial decisions in my household. What that means is that my parents still buy junk food and very little fruit and vegetables and when they do buy fruits and vegetables they somehow find a way to make them unhealthy. I would like to go to a gym but I cannot do it because my parents would rather buy unnecessary junk than a gym membership to help me. I'm stuck in a position where I do not know what to do next when it comes to managing my BED or weight loss. I know my health is on the line and I would love to do things such as Sports in dance(i love to dance, i took dance in school, which is how i lost 30 lbs last year) but it just seems as if my parents don't want to support me doing anyting active outside of the house. Whenever I talk about exercise and getting out side, they just tell me to look up a YouTube video and exercise in my room. I want to do more things active but it seems as if a parent are unsupportive of those things. could anybody give me advice as to how to lose weight with the setbacks. Also a weight loss buddy would super cool. we could lose weight together but most of my friends are already skinny or at a healthy weight or even just do Sports to maintain a healthy weight. any advice would help me greatly. thank you :)
