Itching...burning....change in the texture or the skin and color change....if you google the symptoms there is a long list. But keep in mind they are and can be very different for every woman.

My lesions were white and the vulvar area looked like it turned grey and died.

so sorry you are having issues. My vulvar cancer started with an ulcerous looking lesion that quickly popped outward into a warty looking bump that grew to the size of a nickel in 3 short months. It had a white film growing on top and I had 3 doctors tell me it did not look like cancer. I also had another spot pop up were the warty growth rubbed the other side of my perineum and another lesion grew inside the opening of my vagina. The 2 newer grows did not look like warts but the skin looked raw and also had the white film where the skin was eroding away.

I had similar symptoms as these 3 ladies, and my drs prescribed various creams and ointments. Finally(after months of symptoms), one dr said, "If this ointment doesn't clear this up, I want you to see a dermatologist." No one had ever mentioned that option. So, I went, and she suspected immediately that it was squamous cell carcinoma. Biopsies confirmed this. Then I returned to an ob-gyn who scheduled me for vulvar cancer surgery.

It sounds similar to what I have, but as Rlexus said, those symptoms could be many things.

I have lichen sclerosis and VIN3 (pre-cancer). The VIN lesions were white, light gray, dark gray and black. The lichen sclerosis has caused some minor atrophy but mostly just irritated and dry skin so far. The VIN caused intense itching, pain during sex and periodic bleeding during both the itching and intercourse.
