Vitiligo or leukoderma is a skin disease that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular white patches of skin. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic and environmental factors. Half of vitiligo patients develop signs of the disorder before the age of 20, with patches of de-pigmented skin appearing on extremities. Share...
I have had vitiligo since I was 5 years old, so I know what it's like trying to deal with the skin condition. I don't know what you are in to personally but for me fake tan has always been the back-bone to my confidence. I used various different types all the way through secondary school - I am now 18. (Literally started using it in year 7 and to this day still use it). So I have a huge amount of faith in the help fake tan can provide for a person's self esteem.
I will list below some great fake tans I have used before and also a page with everything you need to know in general when it comes to fake tanning!
Loving Tan - My preferred tan that I regularly use: https://www.lovingtan.com/ (They also do a beautiful shimmer lotion that is perfect for a night out)
English website Loving Tan: https://www.lovingtanislington.co.uk/
Avene - My preferred gradual tan for my face: http://www.aveneusa.com/moisturizing-self-tanning-lotion
A cheap and cheerful gradual mouse tanner: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Moriz-Instant-Self-Tanning-Mist/dp/B002RRI9N4 (If you haven't heard of this I'll be surprised).
A great lotion gradual tanner: https://www.dove.com/uk/skin-care/self-tanner.html (I used this a lot in school because it smells lovely as well as looking crazy natural, plus you can build it up to your hearts content!)
The dove gradual tan I used looks like this: https://www.google.es/search?q=dove+fake+tan&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiF2smqkJrUAhWHrxoKHcHjCTcQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=974
Some natural exfoliators I would 100% recommend: http://www.allure.com/gallery/top-microbead-free-exfoliator-alternatives (I've tried a couple but I've read great reviews on all of them).
A page full of general information about faketanning: http://theeverygirl.com/selftanning-101-what-you-need-to-know/ (Try to ignore the whole 'lets get ready for summer' vibe)
If you're still unsure - Go have a spray tan! I have been to various different beauticians in the UK and Spain and even though the amount has varied, they all knew about vitiligo and how to give your skin the most beneficial tan.
I completely understand it's each to your own and many people don't like fake tan but it has honestly been a life saver for me and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone and everyone with vitiligo!
If fake tan really isn't for you, try DERMABLEND. I would swear by their products, they are truly amazing. I wont say anymore, just go check them out!!

I really hope this helps and if it doesn't I'm sorry! To be honest, this is just scratching the surface of different ways to cover your vitiligo but you must remember you shouldn't feel like you have to cover it. Vitiligo is beautiful and I personally love to look at everyone's versions because there is literally no one in the world that has the same coverage! I like to think of my vitiligo how I would I would if I saw another person in the street with it - it's extremely unique and beautiful.
I wish I had been more aware of the help and places you could go online to talk about vitiligo when I was younger because I think it would have given me so much more confidence.
Sending much love from Menorca!
