So I used to play Halo a lot a lot. When I first started playing it, they didn't have XBox live, so I used LAN Line. I played with several people who were in the same room as me. It was nice, we could interact in person, insult each other, and then hang out afterwards. When online gaming came out, it took out all the interpersonal connections. Of course online gaming was fun, and although I was playing against other people, I was still in a room by myself looking at a screen, and that is where a really unhealthy addiction to gaming started.
Anyways, if you can't throw games out altogether right now (which is a good goal), then taking baby steps to get to that goal is good too. Or maybe making smaller goals at a time could help. Instead of playing 30 hours a week, you could play 25 hours a week. And then you could make a new goal once you feel comfortable at 25 hours.
