Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
'Obsessions' such as these are unhealthy, especially if this woman is an ex and you have no interest in pursuing a relationship with her. I would recommend ignoring her. Moving on with your life the best you can and find a healthier obsession that isn't going to drive you crazy with thoughts.
Not sure where november99 got the idea where you were going to harm this woman, but I sincerely hope you have nothing of the sort in mind. She sounds like she is quite troubled as it is.
If I'm a cat, and you're a dog but you start saying you're a cat. What does it matter to me? I'm a cat, and you're a dog pretending to be a cat. Doesn't change who I am... Maybe that's the way you should look at it.
What she does, does not affect your identity!
Just because you don't care what people lie about and falsely convince themselves of doesn't mean most other people don't.
Seriously AspIn, a nasty attitude isn't going to get you very far. We're all here to support one other and I've taken the time to respond to your post. Some appreciation or at least politeness wouldn't go astray!
In response to your post though, if you were to do all the things you have mentioned, you would be gaining benefits from people in the form of sympathy from others. People with a conscience know that this isn't right!
You know, some people do lie and manipulate like this and sometimes the only explanation is to gain attention or sympathy from others for varied reasons. One of the red flags of a sociopath is them handing out invitations to their false pity party... Realistically, however, we don't know this woman and really could have no idea why else she must be doing this. Your guess is truly better than ours. She could have Aspergers or it could be a plea for attention.
Why do you post here if its not to get support & insight from others and perhaps offer some yourself? Seems to me like you want us to agree with everything you say and if we don't, well nastiness pursues.
I think most of us have had to deal with enough of that from our sociopaths, so please spare us!
This forum is a place I come to offer and receive support and for the most part, I've encountered helpful and friendly posters. I'm really quite irritated at your sarcastic response and hope that you can take that as constructive rather than get all defensive.
"People with a conscience know that this isn't right!"
And yet you told me to just accept it. So, you're either saying we should let wrongs go unnoticed, or that you yourself have no conscience.

neighbor. It's very creepy. The friend wasn't such a big deal, but it was still
quite irritating to have my clothes and mannerisms and tastes in music
copied down to the last detail.
The neighbor was a whole different thing, it was very disturbing. My hair
my landscaping , my friends, my parties, everything was either copied or
competed with. As her child was my son's best friend, I did my best to just
laugh it off and "live and let live". But this woman wasn't satisfied until she
had literally taken my life and taken over my friends in the neighborhood.
Some neighbors had confided to me that they didn't trust her or found her
creepy, but me, in my naive kind heartedness, smoothed the way for her to
be accepted. And part of the way she insinuated herself was by copying me.
As she doesn't have a real personality of her own, she now maintains
her position by the gossip machine and by her husband who maniacally
performs good deeds for certain neighbors.
I've literally had people quit speaking to me over this woman's actions.
They also quit including my son in their lives as well. She throws huge
parties for all the children and he will be the only one not invited.
Her excuse is that she is afraid of me--but the painful truth
is that she had been the one to throw tantrums and have rage attacks
while I stood there silent and dumbfounded.
The last conversation that I had with her, she told me that she had
"planned to do this all along" and she laughed merrily as she said this.
I also knew a very accomplished violinist, who had been copy catted by
a "friend" and she would get on that subject and go on and on about it,
as she found it so disturbing to have aspects of her personality and also
projects, copied and used wholesale. Unless you've experienced it first
hand, it is hard to imagine how disturbing it is.
Just my 2 cents.
