people didn't like me or were somehow out to hurt me. it was mostly his family
and his own actions that fit the bill. I guess it's a classic isolating tactic and also
meant to destroy self esteem.

My experience is that every single friendship they have is strategic in some way, but yes they maintain a lot of friends. Since you know the truth, in his mind he needs to befriend those in your circle all the more...

I think the narcissist in them likes to outwardly portray an image of being popular and well liked too .. I bet he looks everyday to see if he has been unfriended by anyone. LOL!

Being selfish and self serving by nature, they have very few (if any) real friends. Friendship is a two way thing that deepens over time, they are not interested in making any deep and meaningful connections. But it is easy to sit on a friends list and never speak two words to them, I have numerous people on my facebook that I never talk to .. so it doesn't mean he is regularly interacting with them. He may want to give that impression but the reality may be a somewhat different scenerio altogether.

He comments on the things they post and they comment back....so I guess they have some kind of "relationship".

Oh, lol. I just remembered. Before, when I still had Facebook, every once in a while he was posting "I´m deleting my account in 3 days"...or "I´m deleting my account tommorow" etc....and then he never deleted it. It was all just so people would say "Noooo! Don´t! We´ll miss you. Blablabla" : rolleyes: lol So pathetic.

@Sunny: Lol! One of my xN's did that on an online dating site every month. "I'm letting my subscription lapse in a week". Then a week after it lapsed he'd renew and be back on. Oldest marketing trick in the book: create a false sense of urgency..."this offer won't last long". Pfffshht.

Another thing that I thought was weird is that after we broke up (and were still friends on facebook) he had no pictures of me on his facebook. But after a while he deleted me. A couple of months later, I met with a college colleague of mine (he was messing around with her sister, I think they were shortly dating or something) and she didn´t know that we were together, so she asked me "Were you and him freinds or what?" and I´m was like "No, we were dating." and she was like "Really??", I´m like "Why are you asking me this?" and she is like "He has a lot of pictures of you on his facebook." I was like WHAT?? How come he didn´t have ONE picture of me (or us) when we were friends on facebook and after he deleted me he has A LOT of pictures of me. At that time, we didn´t evan talk. WTF?

I have been no contact with my last sociopath for 6 months...lt has been hard we were together off and on for six years.A long rough ride.l still wont answer the door if l dont know who it is.l changed my numbers etc.l am always missing him but its my,mind playing tricks on me. I never act on my feelings because l am finally making progress with my life.l am not strong enough to be his friend etc and he wasnt very friendly..lts a big struggle to get over

you got that right ,gigi. they do try to make it seem like we're the crazy ones by blocking us and changing their numbers and such. but the truth is if we remain in the NC stage for looong after they discard us, they come back & when they don't get any kind of attention it drives them nuts. I remember when my ex came over and knocked on my door(i wasn't replying to his texts). He kept knocking(LOUDLY) and ringing the doorbell for like 5 minutes. When he went back down to his car he kept calling me. Another instance was whenever I was over my friend's house and i wasn't replying to his texts because he had been disrespecting me. He texted & called me continuously all day & night. The next day he acted like a little puppy,like he missed ME so much(he just missed the control,of course)& showed no more aggression.... but it started back up the next week
