Reading the defense mechanisms listed on "Out of the F.O.G.", I was interested to see two that I'd never heard of before in my psychiatric nurse training: Recruitment by Proxy, and prolonged litigation. I was also interested to see that I shouldn't necessarily believe that he ("S") has as much authority as he claims to.

I do not understand why the local court system has always set aside my maternal concerns when trying to prevent emotional abuse to my daughter. It is so staggering to me that my daughter's father's visitation rights be so closely followed and managed by a case manager. This case manager has had the authority to write a court order mandating a visitation schedule. As a result of cooperating with this schedule for the last seven years as required by law, my daughter now completely disowns her father. She has no respect for him, desires no relationship with him, has nothing but bad memories from him, and she is so much more relaxed with her decision! I'm confident in her healing. I am so angered and preoccupied with the ongoing injustice of this case. Although the case manager is heeding my daughters request for the time being in that she does not want to see her dad - he calls this "unsustainable". It is "unsustainable" for my daughter to be subjected to ongoing emotional abuse. The court continues to fight for paternal rights under the guise of "best interest of the child", as if this case manager is really a child advocate.

To me it seems the sociopathy has surpassed the point of normalcy. How can one creep have so much influence? How can such a large group of professionals - therapists, lawyers, and judges - support ongoing emotional abuse? I have so many questions that there are no answers too! Just want to protect my daughter so that she can have a life!
