Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
I have had NC with my ex S/N for nearly six months and, in large part due to this forum and outside reading, I am really feeling so much better now. Before I joined this forum, I really didn't know what constituted a N/S/P.
Tonight I don't know what compelled me to look up one of his revered OW online through a google search. She's someone who he flirted with from afar on Facebook all the while he was seducing, gaming and then later ruining me. She's a woman who enjoyed posting photos of herself in bikinis all over the web and would make comments endlessly on his page.
In any event, a mugshot populated of the woman for fraud. She was even smiling in the photo. Granted, she was arrested more than 12 years ago but there it was staring at me in the face. I have no qualms with the OW--any of them. They can have him. I just wonder what his very religious grandmother would say if he ended up with this particular OW. The irony in all of this is that he wasn't ever going to tell his grandmother about our child.
Needless to say, my search made me feel so much better about moving on with my life and grateful for the family and friends dear to me. I know I shouldn't have run the search but I'm thinking this is positive karma for the future.

It's natural to do searches I think but only when we are enough strong to face the reality of what we can find.
Nutellina - I'm trying to remind myself of the woman I was prior to meeting him--someone self-assured, happy, trusting, and giving. One day I hope to get back to my old cheerful self again. Balance, like you mentioned, is very important.
Twinkles - Congrats on working toward your degree while raising your son. Karma may not exist but either way, I think I've seen something like it work both favorably and unfavorably for the people I know. I truly hope you do not have to see his face again either. :-)
