Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.

Everything is on a loop. He's in my mind all the time. I feel so angry so upset that it all happened. I'm reading, consuming everything I can on the topic. I'm becoming obsessive.
How long does it take to get through this phase? I'm having a hard time today.

The searching is so normal and part of the healing process. You have to find your truth. The obsession is related to that and I believe every one of us has been through that. There is a limit though. Find out what you need to in order to accept the reality of the situation, to help you come to terms with who he/she is. Once you REALLY get this then stop digging. No more information will be of any help to you. It will make you want to vomit, may aid in your self-destruction and blame, and very much keep you stuck. Once you feel the acceptance sinking in then STOP. This is when you can begin to rebuild and feel happiness again. This is what I know......I know A LOT and am a damn good detective.....and I only know a small fraction of what he was really up to from day to day. I don't need anymore to know that he is evil and disordered. Shoot, I don't even search stuff out anymore and more stuff finds its way to me. It is awful when that happens. I have asked our common people to not tell me anything related to him anymore. He and his crap have nothing to do with me anymore. He is dead to me. You have to love yourself enough, put yourself above him, and know you are worth more than thinking about him. How joyful he would be if he knew the degree in which he impacted you. F*** HIM! Take it back people! HE IS GARBAGE SO TREAT THE MEMORY OF HIM LIKE GARBAGE.

I totally agree Liveintruth, you do hit a point where you need to accept and then move on. I had so many unanswered questions, they never got answered, because there are no answers with these people. I haven't seen my psycho ex for almost two years ... I'm so glad that I no longer have to deal with his pathology. I think I'm probably better off not knowing the extent of his deceptions, if I trust my intuition, I perhaps know more than I would ever care to admit to myself ... because it doesn't matter anymore .. he is insignificant ... I learnt some valuable lessons from the whole experience ... but if he was run over by a bus tomorrow (I live in hope) ... I couldn't care less really! As long as he stays away from me, life goes on as normal.
