N, I was married to a psychopath whom I left over 12 years ago. Neither of us re-partnered for 10 years. Then I did. I had been friendly with my ex until there was another man in my life. Once he realized I was living with someone else (when the new p answered my phone), he got even weirder. Mind you, he is an old psychopath now--65 years old. He was unable to even speak to me on the phone that day.

I had to contact him recently about a practical issue. His anti-social qualities seem to have gone wild since that phone encounter less than a year ago. He quickly told me that he rarely answers his phone, has beefed up his arsenal (he lives in the country), and is armed to shoot anyone who comes near.

This guy was a gentle long-haired hippie park naturalist when I met him in 1972. But I eventually came to know he was a psychopath.

If my experience is any measure, I don't think they take it well. If they are younger and still have prospects, they probably cope better. I think, for them, the idea of being left all alone is intolerable. I really believe their inner lives are Hell on earth.

Well, my ex-husband has no women around him anymore. He has gotten weirder and told me some time ago that he is impotent now. This is not an easy thing for them to deal with as it is about all that they have.

So you are saying that in the end there will be justice? I hope so…..

In the case of my ex-husband, there has been justice in many forms. He was fired from his job a year after I left him for sexual molestation of the teenaged interns. (No one wanted to press charges.) He was unemployed for several years, then got another job and was fired for the same reason. He became an alcoholic drifter. (The man has a Master's degree.) One of his (our) 2 children did not speak to him for 7 years. I tried to fix that, and they got back in communication, but he blew it, and he is out again, with her. Our other daughter has very little contact. He has lost all his assets, his charm, his looks, his way with women, and his family.

I will tell you a secret. By the time this happens, you will no longer care or wish for it. So long as you wish it, it can not happen. That is the meaning of the phrase: Let go and let God.

But yes, in this life or another, there is justice.

Yes they are absolutely afraid to be alone. I have been dealing with my exP for the past 15 years, on and off, but we had a few year break in between and he would contact me every now and again. After 2 years, we saw each other, and it was back to us (we have children together). So we lasted a year, but then he was lying, drinking all the time, being an ass and we split (big drama filled story). That was 2 years ago and I ended up hacking his facebook after and found out that he had contacted all of his ex flames. This was the time that I found out exactly what he was. I had dealt with him these past 2 years and he has tried so hard to get me back, promising me the moon, you name it and I refused. Finally, a few months ago, with kids, with his bullcrap lies and he's a blazing alcoholic, I just starting dogging him, not talking to him, not showing up when he needed me (like him getting kicked out of wherever he was staying at the time). I refused to answer his calls, blocked him, etc. Well what did he do, he ran back to all of his old flames again (as I saw his facebook friends and just laughed). He asked me, after one of his 'kiss my ass' sessions, if I was talking to anyone and I lied to him. I told him yes that i was and he blew up, said he didn't want anything to do with the kids, he wanted to sign his rights over. He's staying gone and only contacted me a few times since just to cry and blame me for his piss poor life and decisions. He has literally ran all of his family off as they don't want anything to do with him and he even blames me for that too. But I look back and he always, always has to be around someone. Rather it be me, another girl, a friend, whoever. He has even told me he can't be alone. His friends/people consist of the partying type, bar people, druggies, younger partying kids, you name it. I look back and smack my head like RED FLAG

Kris well I have to say, he had what he deserved. I'm usually not mean, but it's the law of "what you give you get". And I'm kinda happy the children understood who he is because it must be difficult to grow up with such a male figure.

Jewles you had too a long experience I can see. I wish you knew before who he was. But I'm happy you are not letting him in again. That can bring sanity in your life. It's hard when there are kids involved! You did a great job!

Mine found a new girlfriend right away. They hate to be alone and he wants someone to pay his way and take care of him. Entitlement.

When I found a new partner he stalked me and the guy for a year then befriended him... I recently made contact with him after a year and he is with same replacement his new gina he calls her and I acted out on him VIA phone. Just communicating with him brought up a lot of feelings mainly like "revenge". He is currently on drug offender probation and I pray he will violate and go to prison for all the violations he did against me and other women. He was trying to get me to meet him in a private place to help him get his resume done translates into seducing me and starting whole thing all over. I said have your girlfriend do it.

They are like addictive poision and hes a long line of same type I have always liked. This was was a nastier though rape abuse stealing drugs etc you name it he did it..I am mad at myself for not treating myself better

Mine found a new gf before he even left me, it was his behavior that made me believe he was cheating even though he was telling me how much he loved me and that I meant the world to him. When I kicked him out, he never tried to win me back, he just turned around and blamed me for all of our relationship problems - that weren't problems but it was to justify his own behavior which he would never awknowledge. In a week he was "officially" with her and his whole family cut me off. I used to catch him reading my linked in account, but I think that was only to see if I finally got a job. I know he feels good in the fact that he basically watched my successful life fall apart. He had nothing even close to what I had. Well the joke is on him - I found a job, a better one than the one I had when I met him at my last job the one I was laid off from. Both position and salary. I now make twice as much as he does. I think he wanted a sugar momma and I was never one, he always paid despite my wanting to (CONTROL). He doesn't care about me anymore, I don't exist to him. Amazing considering four months ago he loved me more than he's loved anyone else, and I meant the world to him. The world must not mean very much.

Gigi…..wow! You got lucky if he ended up on drugs and and prison. Was he abusive?

Wow Miz!!! It happened the exact same thing to me only a month ago! Same thing! He was telling me how much he loved me but form the behavior I knew he had another person. I left him and I never heard back from him!

Nutellina, none of their words are real, you must stop hanging onto 'he told me he loved me' or 'he told me I was his world' .. the bottom line is .. if he felt remotely like that, he wouldn't have put you through the soul destroying mess you are quite clearly in now. People who love you do not use and abuse you, and constantly tell you lies, and mess you around or cheat on you etc etc .....

God, where all all these men who "love" you? I have had 2 relationships in my adult life--both with men who do ALL the things that "people who love you" don't do. My crazy mother says this is the way men are. They lie, they cheat, etc. I am getting too old to worry about it. But it's disheartening.
