Victims of Psychopaths Community Group
Is he or she a sociopath or psychopath? Think we're only talking about serial killers here? Psychopaths, sociopaths and even narcissists come in every walk of life, every career level, and every socio-economic category.
My sister was labelled a "problem child". She would steal from my mother, lie about it, and deny it even when caught. As she got older, she did not change... she would still take my things, use them, and destroy them, while I would be looking for them like a crazy person. She once busted my head with a telephone receiver. And in her late twenties she threw a metal can at me.
I used to think she was jealous, because I outperformed her academically. Or that she had some deep secret -- like sexual abuse -- that was making her act up. Also, she was close to my father and I thought maybe she took a huge hit when my parents separated.
But as time went on, she never changed... she has never apologized for stealing and lying. And has said that all she has wanted from me was to be accepted.
But as I got older and started finding out about mental problems, I became convinced she is a sociopath. That conviction has strengthened in recent years. Stealing things you dont need--even from your fucing grandmother! LYING and never admitting it even when you are CAUGHT in the lie, and doing what I now think is mirroring (doing what she thinks should be done/ looks good). I have never been able to trust her, and I cant wait to have NC.
I only maintain minimal contact because our mother is aging and is not well.
It sometimes hurts me deeply that I cannot trust my own sibling--I hide my money and important papers when I know she is coming over. I move things to other people's houses... but I am definitely willing to live without her, forEVER. To be safe from the damaging manipulation of someone who never shows remorse and thinks they must have every good thing you come across is such a scary prospect. I have resigned myself to having her as a sad footnote in my life but being free.
Is showing signs of something bipolar/psychopath/sociapath
Reading your posts omg..Sounds familiar but still bits missing
He is very manipulative/ over powering /threatens/ and self loathing ....He likes to tell stories of how great he is about achievement and tries to either over power you to make me feel intimidated and for example if you have a poor sympathy story he has to be worse ..
Last night after a kind of argument I did a little research and discovered its not just me. When I read the description of a sibling of a physcopayhic nars.i was reading about myself
I have always known something was wrong but I though it was just out relationship, we are very close. I'm seeing now I have been kept close. I'm now in a place where I am depending on him. I see now how this was cleverly done. I was raised to do this. I was taught this. I'm 45 yrs old. I have no clue how to begin to fix it.
As I'm sure many others can i can tell stories of things pulled on me, manipulation beyond anything reasonable or even believable. Just last night he told me how crazy I was. Or screamed rather.
" Oh its just how he is " " he is your brother and he loves you '
I'm terrified of conflict. If someone says hello I startle.
I sold my house and bought him a new bike because he convinced me it was the smart and right thing to do.
If i stand up for myself in any way I'm the bad guy. I'm the crazy one..
How do you break contact when the person who is doing this has you totally under thumb. Due to him I have nothing and I am now at an age that it may be to late. Help.
Suicide has crossed my mind many times. I cannot and will not do that to my children. But I wish I could.
My biggest fear now is that when my father passes away that she will, like clockwork, play the victim, and if her sister doesn't come to her rescue, she will begin another reign of terror by gaining the sympathies of anyone she can and turning them against her sister or myself. I not only fear it but sense it coming because I have seen it countless times. I only know to keep God close and keep her away. I completely sympathize with you and know what your are going through.
