Your sister sounds like my sister. I don't know if is a sociopath support group for relatives of sociopaths.

No contact is what works for me. I have several close family members who have sociopathioc traits. They are similar in many ways, but different when it comes to the way they play the sociopath game. One likes to bully. One likes to threaten murder. One likes to plot revenge. One likes to use people and manipulate. Well, they all do, just one is more transparent. One is over-the-top narcissitic. The bottom line is that they are toxic. I had a friend who acted like your description. I choose who is a part of my life, and I am happy without their drama and stress. I understand the hurt and pain, but know this, that is exactly what they want. They know what they do...and it doesn't bother them.

No boundary that I set is respected-in fact boundaries are punished. Breakins since 2004, unending. Stole my business of 18 years. Any storage unit, cleaned out despite my moving from city after city for 9 years. Estranged my adult children through outright lies and slander. Martha Stout's (book) says to get away from a sociopath, not try to outsmart them or analyze them, etc. This would require a full identity change for me, because she is an obsessed stalker and will never "lose" at her imagined game or imagined war. Has a lot of money to spend on P.I.'s, and nothing but boredom and time on her hands. I've tried no contact for 20 years, but that's unacceptable to her. She will not be 'rejected'. She is borderline, bi-polar, OCD, suicidal, abuses medications has nervous breakdowns and is tortured, but very driven.The fixation on me is growing, and is disturbing. She has no respect for the law, just contempt for it.

I have three psychopathic siblings. And my N Mother orchestrates everything via triangulation. FUN times. (not). I don't have anything to do with them anymore because they are all toxic. I also have three "normal" siblings. One of them "gets" this and we talk often. I don't know what I would do without her!

Maybe a narcissist you can get rid of and they would respect boundaries eventually, but a sociopath will never be told what to do. NO is not an option.

I know and feel your pain, my older sister... Thankfully I have had little to do with her for most of my adulthood, but reconnected through facebook to be kind to her because I like to please my Mother (who was also very manipulative but not sociopathic), it was a huge mistake.

Yes, I have a sister who is exactly as you describe in your original post. I went NC and life has been much better. My family responds with "Oh, that is just Mary....you know Mary". They all know she is a sociopath and it has been discussed at length. They are just not willing to cut her off completely....normal person guilt I think. I refuse to let one family member hold my family experiences hostage to her ever changing moods and games. I stopped accepting the crap. My family a little bit at a time has come to accept that I am permanently done with that relationship. I have built a "family" of friends who have similar values and those are my go to people. If my sister does not attend a family function then I will go, but I will not attend anything where she is present. I owe it to my son not to have this kind of darkness in his life. It hurts a little when I am spending Christmas at a friends house, but we have a wonderful time so the sting goes away pretty quickly. My life has been greatly improved since going NC. It sounds like your experience it to the extreme though. You are really in a tough boat. The nice thing about romantic relationships is that in general they will leave you alone eventually as they get a new victim....at least for awhile. You sister actually sounds like a dangerous P.

I may have a psychopath in my family, and I am trying to figure out if this person is really a psychopath or just a Narcissist. Triangulation is used at all times to have power and control over other people and to feed into their ego, everything is a mind game to serve some self-directed purpose to feed the ego, big ego, attention seeking, overly self-confident, thinks very highly of themselves, strong sense of entitlement, lies, emotionally manipulative, lacks empathy, parasitic lifestyle. I'm pretty sure they are, but sometimes with family you end up seeing things with rose-coloured glasses.

I have 1 sister who is clearly a narcissist and finally figured out another one is a psychopath. I have chosen NC since early October. I have to.keep.educating myself to avoid blaming myself. We learned from our parents. I feel I have escaped, but it also feels.like a loss of a dream of having a loving and supportive family. I am angry, hurt, and grieving at the same time. I feel sorry for the others caught up in the lies. I wonder if anyone else will ever recognize what is going on and if they do, will they stay and "behave" to keep the myth alive that we are a normal family?

OP, I would love to find more on relatives of sociopaths, too. I didn't grow up with any but my ex-husband has at least two in his family.

They are not diagnosed as such, but I doubt a shrink would be able to spot a psychopath if he/she bit them on the ass.

ForeverLovingMom, I think your sister is my ex-sister-in-law. I never knew how many of these creatures existed until a few weeks ago.

I thank God for the internet and forums like these. Even if I don't find any "answers", it's somehow comforting to know that others have dealt with the same things and survived.

I have an evil sister who has done a lot of things to destroy me, but she is not a sociopath/psychopath. She's just some kind of evil b i t c h. Your sister sounds truly sinister. I am sorry to hear your story, but it gives me a glimmer of hope.

i have two step-siblings that i call the evil steps. the male poisons people and teaches people to poison other people including me if he can find me. he will show up where i am living or working even if its 1500 miles away. super creepy and its gone on for 35 years (before that if you include ten years of childhood and living in the same house).

the evil step sister can't hold down a job. steals. goes after people's husbands and boyfriends and will make harassing phone calls at your home or work, even if you are living 1500 miles away or in a different country. i have avoided these people for 35 years, no matter what they keep showing up. basically you wait for them to die because only death will get rid of them. they also have relatives that are equally bad and will show up if they can find out where you live or work, as though you would ever want to see them. ALL of them owe me money. ALL of them steal. and no, they don't need the money, they just enjoy stealing. like goes with like, so they will also know others who steal and attack. its a danger to have them around in any capacity. keep hoping they will die soon. seriously. can't believe they are still living.

I guess you are best to ask a psychologist if there is such a support group?

what sucks about it is that the business was all about 'the bottom line', and that meant, whoever pulled in the most money. so, because of her ruthless tactics...

she is like Vivian leigh in gone with the wind, and glenn close in fatal attraction if you can imagine that. I need support for this evil person. I pray a lot. i'll pray for you.
