The 9th Session

Only one more meeting to the VA ACT Group. I find myself approaching manic at the prospect of losing it after next Friday. I have been deeply craving the company of my fellow veterans. Meeting with this small group of them for the past 9 weeks has been very satisfying.

I was only in the Army for three years during the post-VietNam restructuring. Still, it was my rescue from the throw-away kid life. It was my ticket into college. While I helped with the restructuring of US defenses, I was undergoing the most profound restructuring of my personal life.

Am I turning into one of those VFW geezers?

you are someone who has made a connection with others, Ask your fellow vets if they would like to continue to meet at a local coffee shop, sounds like you have found a good group of people.

Sounds like something many of us would enjoy, Arfie. I'm glad you had the opportunity. And yes, I thin Kelly has a great idea. Just because the VA isn't sanctioning it, doesn't mean you can't all meet somewhere. I know I'd try to continue if I wee in your place.

Oh, and yes, you probably are approaching "Old Geezer" status. Stop over if you like and have a peek at us. We're a colorful bunch.

Join the American Legion,,If you were in the Military , Got an Honorable Discharge , You Qualify , They have something going on several times a week , And they are everywhere ,, VFW are Combat Vets only ,, Which means 60 Days in a combat zone no matter what your job was ,, Being a member of both ,, I have the opertunity to hear More lies , more stories, meet more John Waynes, more ladies men {This is the group I like to include myself in} ,,And I allso get to be part of 2 outfits that do so much for your comunity you wouldn't belive and you never hear about it , Nuff said
