Its the nature of the beast. What with it taking several years to d iagnose I wonder how many of us there are? Let's get together and compare experiences
I went to a luncheon with Eric Shinseki, head of VA. He said VA is struggling to keep up with all the claims...about 1.4M backlog now. It has been 10 months since I submitted a claim for PD. I am on the "fast track" meaning I submitted the results of an extensive exam by my MD to speed up the process. I just got a letter from VA saying they are waiting for more info from my Neurologist.
I wonder if VA is trying to cut back (reduce awards) on paying new claims.
It has now been 1year since sending in a claim for PD. The delay was partially caused by waiting for complete records from all(5) of my Drs.
I think one year is unacceptable. My PD has changed a lot since my claim went in. I even had my Dr do a "fast track" questionaire. That has made no difference. It seems that I gp to the back of tbe line everytime I interact with VA.
I have been waiting sense june of 2010, fist decision was no, appeal has been in sense 2012. My appeal has not made it past the first stage yet. va said it could take another three years with the backlog.
