I HOPE SOMEONE IS READING THIS BECAUSE I REALLY WENT THRU IT LAST NIGHT . HE IS CRAZY . HE WAS YELLING AND SCREAMING AT ME ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT . HE FEELS I DISRESPECTED HIM BY ROLLING MY EYES AT WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT TO A FRIEND. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE . MY GOD I JUST WANT A NORMAL RELATIONSHIP WHERE WHEN I COME HOME I KNOW THAT I WILL BE LOVED AND NOT PUT DOWN FOR EVERYTHING I SAY OR DO . MY MIND IS GOING THRU SO MUCH THOUGHT IT WEIRD. I WANT OUT BUT NEVER SEEM TO MAKE THAT FIRST STEP. WHY I HAVE NO CLUE BECAUSE AS EACH DAY GOES BY I HATE HIM EVEN MORE FOR PUTTING ME THRU THIS AND FOR ALL THE THINGS HE SAYS.
Hi,
I'm sorry too hear you're having such a bad time.
I've just come out of a verbally abusive relationship. I felt like you too. I wanted out, but for me, I didn't have the courage to do it. I wasn't sure how he was going to react. He never raised his voice or hit me but he was controlling and some of the names he called me were unforgiveable. (I've been unwell and he's been very unsupportive)
In the end, he made it easy for me. He started the conversation about why our relationship was going wrong and I seized my opportunity to tell him. He took it quite well and packed his things straight away!
We haven't even been apart a fortnight yet and I already feel a bit better about myself.
If you are going to end it, it might be best to confide in a friend or relative first about what has been going on. That way, you'll have support waiting for you. I wouldn't be doing this well without my friends.
If you feel he may become physically violent when you try to end it, have a friend with you. Also plan your escape route. Will you have to leave your home? Where will you stay?
I've realised that any form of abuse in a relationship is wrong. I'd rather spend the rest of my life single than with a man who doesn't respect me.
Good luck and take care.

I have been through a couple of abusive relationships. They try to control you by making you think it's your fault fault for "making" them act that way. In reality, they are too impulsive and try to absolve themselves of responsibility by projecting blame instead of accepting responsibility and controlling themselves and learning from the situation. I left a guy this week when he showed me who he was. I am so happy to say that I listened to myself instead of sticking around to "fix" someone or hope for better.
