I'm trying to find a new psyc doc to give me Lorazepam to take on the days I don't take Xanax. I'm not sure any doc is going to do this but I had a huge anxiety attack two days ago and I thought I wasn't going to come back. But for the xanax I would still be in bed.
I know what you mean about being afraid to tell your doc stuff. Doctor's sketch out when we ask for benzodiazepenes. My primary MD told me she would not Rx Lorazepam because Xanax was already in my system. That doesn't make sense to me.
I am on Effexor XR 225 mg but soon Medicare Part D is going to reach the donut hole and pay zilch...don't know what I'm going to do when that happens.
Paxil turned me into a zombie. Zoloft worked for several years and then didn't work. Prozac made my anxiety worse. Haven't tried Celexa or Lexipro (sp?).
So far, Effexor XR works for depression.
I'm not a drug addict either ... if I didn't have Rx for my depression or anxiety I don't know what I'd do. Also, when we are stressed our brain releases cortisol which is not a healthy hormone. That's why my I have a weight problem. Yuk.
I appreciate your thoughts and I understand where you are coming from, I am a Christian as well and pray on a daily basis for my conditions but I just wanted to let you know that my anxiety is brought on by physical problems. I have a heart condition called Mitral Valve Prolapse which has led to my Dysautonomia and I have a prolactinoma which also causes me physical problems that contribute to my anxiety. I also have high blood pressure (working on that by losing weight) and take medicine for that which also helps with my heart problem. So it's not so black and white when coming to medicine. I wish I didn't have to take it but for now I do. The anxiety medicine also helps me when I have symptoms of the MVP and blood pressure rises from anxiety. AND I don't take it on a daily basis anyway. Just as needed.
God Bless,
Laurie
Wouldn't that be great in a perfect world? If we could all be free of anxiety, stress and worry and ailments? I'd love it.
