HI!
I'm a long time vegetarian, ex vegan (purely for the dairy in chocolate and that's it) so practically i'm a vegan.
I recently met a raw foodist and i'm excited to hear about it! I'm thinking of becoming this but I need my cappacino's and chocolate of course! I don't want to give those up because I don't believe they are entirely bad if they are organic/fair trade and health wise a bit every day can't hurt!
SO anyone out there a raw foodist??? What is your typical day of eating involve and how do you have choc/coffee if at all? (maybe you have cocoa beans or black coffee from the beans?)
Excited to hear more as It's a committment I'm looking into choosing!!! Please win me over! haha

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am not a raw foodist but know someone who is. She has done a total lifestyle change and covered her stovetop with plywood to use as extra countertop. She uses all kinds of fancy chopping gadgets and a food dehydrator, but nothing else. She is strict as does not allow even heated beverages. I am constantly astounded at the variety and deliciousness of the things she makes. She has kept it up for several years so I can't think of it as a phase she's going through. She LOVES it.
Good to hear someone loves it, I understand it's a whole make over of a lifestyle that's why I neeeed to know more :)
The key is raw cacao powder. If you want to sweeten it, use either agave or jerusalem syrup (this is the latest find in trendy LA).
Dr. Joel Furhman makes a chocolate spinach smoothie. If I can find the recipe, I'll post. Otherwise, check out his website.
And I was just in a raw food class at Sun Cafe in LA where Chef Kristan made dried figs stuffed with a mixture of raw cacao, agave and coconut oil. Yum-o! I haven't tried either yet, but I just bought my raw cacao at Whole Foods. Can't wait to make something. I'll let you know if I discover something amazing and you do the same, okay? Good luck!
