Hey don't let people make you feel bad about not wanting to ear meat. It's YOUR diet, what do they care? I get this all the time too; we probably all do. You can post or send me a PM the next time somenone says something to you and I'll back you up bud :)
you've got to stand for something or you will fall for anything.
it stands true throughout your life. you are so young and to know what you know about animals and protecting the environment and your health needs applause. good for you. you don't have any explaining to do. just show them by your actions. don't "coward" to anyone and stand up for what you know is right by not putting meat into your body. believe me, at any age you can get the business about your lifestyle, whatever it is. if it wasn't your vegetarianism, it would be something else. just brush it off and feel great about doing something wonderful. good luck and take care.
APPLAUD, APPLAUD, APPLAUD! just thought i would add that for ya:)
Good luck with your peer pressure. Stick to your guns... I will say a prayer for your mom.
gkneez
The best thing about vegan diet (I'm vegan) is NO cholesterol! Plus not as much fat, so I don't really need to watch my weight. And no nasty hormones and antiobiotics! Eww!
I agree with others here, that sometimes just showing by example is the best, rather than trying to actively convert someone to meatless lifestyle.
Have you tried to Google for athletic vegetarians/vegans? One guy has a website - he's an award winning bodybuilder, and is vegan! So much for needing to eat meat to be strong and healthy.
Plus, as I tell my kids, if you go to the doc with health problems, do they EVER tell you to cut back on fruits and veggies and eat more meat/dairy? NO ! Quite the opposite. Plus, what are some of the biggest, strongest animals? Gorillas, Oxen, Elephants, and what do they eat??
Good luck!
It gives an overview of Dr. Ornishes veggie diet/excercise that I posted previously.
