You could try some substitutes like seaweed for that salty ocean flavor. There are other substitutes - like some people use black salt for the sulphur taste they miss in hard boiled eggs, for example.
Welcome here to this group.
I stopped eating all animals including seafood because I refuse to eat animals.
At first I went full vegan (19 years ago) but I found that I could not stay away from cheese, so that cheese is my weakness but still it is not eating an animal.
We can only do what we can do.
To make mistakes or to fall short is human, but do not ever give up.
seafood (esp shellfish) has higher amounts.
sometimes we crave things that a are for our moods though like sugar and fat. we don't physiologically need them but we want them just the same
My theory on craving is that we crave the foods we were weaned on. It's the way children adapt to their parents' environment. It's interesting to me that children who are raised without sweets and given bell peppers and greens instead have different cravings. They don't seem to want candy.
When I first got started on vegetarianism decades ago, I tried going back to see how a hamburger would taste. It made me nauseous...even though I used to love eating meat dishes. As I remember I ate about half of it, and it didn't stay down.
Humans are incredibly good at adapting to local foods wherever they live. Since I stopped eating all sweets years ago, I find them disgusting now. My hunger now is for starchy foods, things rich in oil like avocado, foods with fruity flavors like berries.
When I tell people I don't eat sweets, they try to mess with my head by offering me cake or cookies...thinking they'll rattle my cage. What they don't know is that all they're doing is making me feel queasy...LOL.
