On another note, I would also like to lose some weight and haven't really seen a change since I started full vegan about a month ago. Is that normal? I'm still getting used to this kind of eating and sometimes have stuff with oil in it. I also might be eating to much starchy items (like grains, potatoes, etc). Can you share some of your typical meals a day? I'd like to compare to what I'm currently eating.
Here's one that I always here: Vegan diets are lacking in nutrients.
And here's a snappy comeback that I stop myself from actually saying: Oh yeah, it's lacking in the "nutrients" that cause obesity, heart disease, diabetes etc.
A lot of people at my workplace are looking into magical solutions to lose weight (machines, pills and whatnot). It's crazy! They can just leave animals off their plate as a start!
What I think is funny is that most meat-eaters think of a vegetarian dinner as the same as their dinner, just with the meat removed. Like we have plates with big empty spots in them... just a small side of vegetables and a baked potato. Funny.
My favorite is "can't you just pick it off?" UG.
