Urinary Incontinence Support Group
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Stress, functional, and urge incontinence are the most common forms. Share with other support group members and learn from their stories and experiences.
Film - star Tony Curtis writes he was "King of the Bed - Wetters on my block" - and so was I!
But like him, and me, and millions of others, there must be some things you are good [even great] at doing.Singing, piano, tenor sax or trombone? Or just percussion & the brushes. Running, marathons, athletics, archery, cycling, some fantastic hobby, sport, or language; or even advanced math? Grab them and let them grab you.
I may have been Champion Bed Wetter - but in athletics just see me run and jump hurdles to win the championships.
I guess you get the picture; I always say: "Wash & Go - Get A Life" . Go well and good luck
I am 28 yrs old and I've had bladder problems my whole life. I hated go to the doctor at 14-20 yrs old and seeing all the older people too (sometimes I still do). But I realized it just something I can't change. It's not something we asked for. In my case I was born like this. I began to just be truthful with everyone (friends, family, coworkers, etc). The more honest I am the less ashamed I feel. Because it's out of my control. But that's okay I've come to find out once I opened up to people about my struggles I've found a lot of people with similar struggles and have bonded or have realized people are caring and understanding. I hope this helps you some. I know it's hard but it's easier if you let people in so that way when you need them they can be there for you.
Let me tell you my life's story of Incontinence Issues. Maybe it will help you come to terms with your issues like I did with mine.
I'm just under 20 years old now, and you could say I've been troubled with bladder related issues for the majority of my life. I remained in diapers from birth to about age 8. As a child I could never "Hold It", as soon as I felt the urge to urinate it was happening. This also held true with Bowel Movements until about age 6 (Thankfully that resolved on its own). I went through so many medical tests I couldn't count them even if I really tried. My doctor's never could find an answer.
Try being the only kid in class in grade school still wearing diapers. Not to mention on an hourly basis I was checked by my teachers and then changed by the nurse's staff. Finally around age 8, I dried up during the day. However not fully at night. I was an unpredictable bedwetter until around age 11. Which caused embarrassment at many sleepovers.
Then I finally dried up about 98% day and night. If you want to count up my (For the Most Part) dry period, It was approximately 2 years. However during that time I had a lot of issues with bladder spasms and painful urination.
After those 2 years of pain and suffering every time I used the restroom; at age 13 I began to wake up wet again in the mornings. I once again was taken to urologists and went through even more medical tests, and from there everything started going downhill fast. It was only a matter of months and I started leaking during the day. It started as little "spurts" and over a short total time span of 5 months I was back to my previous state of uncontrolled urination, except this time I never felt my bladder when it was "Full". I would simply be going about my business, and then I would feel the warmth of the urine collecting into the Diapers I had once again started wearing (Adult Sized Ones of course).
Soon enough it was time to begin high school, which I dreaded even the thought of. I spent a total of 8 miserable, stress and anxiety filled days there. When my parent's could see how obvious my daily torment was from trying to manage my problem discretely in front of all my peers. They quickly removed me from the school system. I then Home-Schooled myself for my High School Education. This in turn brought me in connection with myself, upped my confidence and motivation, and after a decent amount of time I accepted my problem and decided to own it, and not be owned by it. That decision alone improved my outlook on life tenfold.
I have since seen and met with many of my old peers, after dealing with my incontinence for so long I finally came out publicly about it. Of course there was much pity from some others, but many of my old friends gave me encouragement and applauded my strength to come out to the world and announce that I was almost an Adult still wearing diapers. Many of them said I should have talked to them before I had left the public school system. Saying that they would have supported me the entire way.
After being supported and uplifted by my old peers it made me feel even better. The fact that I was so "different" yet I was still accepted as a functional human being. It felt great.
Now here I am 3 years after revealing my issues to the public, I'm still in diapers day and night. However I am having pains again accompanied with my incontinence, which is actually why I'm here. I've been seeking out some forums to ask some questions on. I happened to see your post here, and thought maybe I can get through to you. And hopefully make you realize that your are most certainly not alone. Most Importantly, you are NEVER Useless.
My two adolescent daughters are heavy wetters too and I always told them that there is nothing to be ashamed of wearing diapers. Be it at night in bed or at school. Of course it wasn't easy but they got used to it. Your mom is right in saying that you should not feel humiliated.
You are not alone with your problems and there are many nice people out there with the same issue. So don't feel alone, useless or bad in anyways.
If you like you can join the ,teen / adolescent bedwetting, support group. This group is meant for boys and girls in your age and their parents.
If you want feel free to message me and we can talk. Ok?
