Hi there,
New to the group so a little background... Due to some neurological conditions for the past few years I've had trouble feeling when my bladder's full, get sudden urges, have urinary incontinence at night and get post-micturition dribble quite badly.
I'm having another Ultrasound of my bladder/kidneys soon and this time have to drink 1L of water an hour beforehand. I'm not sure I can hold it that long and was wondering if anyone had any tips for this type of situation?
I've already considered the following:
-Not drinking the entire recommended amount.
-Drinking it 20-30min before instead of an hour.
-Double-Voiding before drinking 1L.
-Wearing protection while in the clinic.
-Trying to half empty my bladder when I get there.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

I have never had any problems with it and if I wet while being scanned oh well, I have a diaper on or a towel to catch it. They are medical professionals and have seen and dealt with a lot worse things.
Saying all that just to say, wear a diaper, it's no big deal.
Glad to hear it sounds like you're managing it well! I used to use the Tena Slip Maxi's myself, I decided to wear protection, and the results weren't great, 400ml retention post-void...
Sorry to hear about having to have extensive surgery, I'm only on a waiting list for my 2nd surgery but can relate to it being a little awkward the first time a nurse has to put a pull-up or nappy on you. I worry more about the chances of a successful operation being less each time though, so how did you find it after the 3rd?
Wow that sounds like a bad case of neurological bladder, hope you cope with it ok! Mine's mainly dribbles/light to moderate leaks for day and occasional accidents at night. I'm waiting to see a urologist to get a proper diagnosis but neurological bladder is definitely the top suspect... How did you find getting used to nappies 24/7? I only use heavy shields or pull-ups during the day so don't notice them as much.
Thanks for the advice :) Thought I'd be used to it 100% by now but at times it still gets to me. I try to think of it like you take a panadol for a headache with no shame so what's wrong with protection for bladder issues...
