Urinary Incontinence Support Group
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Stress, functional, and urge incontinence are the most common forms. Share with other support group members and learn from their stories and experiences.
i am an every night bed wetter. 25 years old. It is mortifying and I can’t take it anymore.
I wet the bed up until age 12 where one night I just woke up and kept waking up. About the age of 23 I started again. It was once a night every couple months and escalated to every night now for over a year. It is a very large amount so I’m going 3 maybe 4 times a night and if I happen to wake up as soon as I stand up it falls out as if I have no muscle there at all (note: no problems with incontinece during the day time at all) I have seen a urologist and was offended at the picture book he provided for help and was prescribed oxytocin(?) which did not remedy the situation. I have tried limiting fluid intake to the point of irritability from extreme thirst, I’ve tried cutting caffeine, acidic foods ect I’ve tried both moisture alarms(after a month of an alarm notifying me and my husband I was pissing myself with no help we stopped that )and regular periodic alarms (works sporadically but I am extremely groggy the next day as I set them every two hours for success) I’m at a loss. My husband supports me thankfully but I’m so embarrassed every day. I’ve been late to work because of it (making sure I shower, some days my shower takes longer because it seeps up into my hair) I’m done and I need help.

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

I'm just a regular guy with moderate to severe incontinence, after my prostatectomy a few years ago. I have a great solution for men (that I address in my post on 2/10/18) and a promising management solution for you, which begins with wearing a liner a night. You did not mention that in your post. The other little known fact that many may not realize is that gravity pulls straight down. If you sleep on your back, as I do, you will definitely find less leakage at night. Once you roll over for some unspecified period, you'll be on your own, however. Regarding fluid intake, it's quite obvious that not drinking much from late afternoon to bedtime will help...and that includes not eating soup at dinner, by the way. The next day, slightly dehydrated by morning, you start replacing that fluid...and don't stop until mid afternoon. I hope these management tricks work for you as they do for me...every day.
Best wishes, Fynlee

I have been using adult diapers for overnight protection for several years now and my wife and I can finally get a good night's sleep. It has removed a huge stress for both of us. A really good site for product samples is Northshore Care: http://www.northshorecare.com/ Please let us know how you are doing.
