Hi I have been diagnosed with nocturnal and Diurnal Enuresis and have been incontinent for over a year now. I have been seeing a really good doctor who has been trying alot of things to correct the problem but to no avail. My doctor is not sure what is causing my incontinence but has now prescribed me Adult Diapers and am having a hard time coping with it. We tried surgery and put in interstem but it caused me pain down my left leg so have gotten that shut off and my doctor isn't confident any of the other surgeries will work for me hence the prescription. Just looking for friendly advice on living with this problem and advice I what is the best products to get for this problem as my incontinence is very heavy and have had leakage problems with the prescribed diapers I have been getting that my insurance will pay for

Hi Chris, I know how frustrating it can be for the doctors to not know what is causing your incontinence. Mine don't have a clear picture either and have tried everything they can. My only choices left are for them to remove my bladder and let my urine drain into a bag attached to my belly or wear/use diapers. I have found that diapers for me are a better option. Once I have found good diapers and learned how much they can hold, my life is back to normal and then some.
I have found that I have to use extra heavy disposable diapers such as Abena M4, Dry 24/7, or Northshore brand. Everyone of us has to find that right combination of things to use in order to keep living a good quality of life. What works for one may not work for someone else. Feel free to reach out any time to talk about this more. I don't let having to use diapers stop me from living.

I have had this problem for a long time. I have tried different medications. They can be expensive even with insurance. One my doctor ordered was $84. I have thought of getting a week's worth to see if they work.
I didn't know insurance would pay for diapers. I use XL diapers from Krogers but they are really just underwear and I leak on the pads I put on the sheet.
It is very frustrating. Mine is only at night unless I have an UTI then it is day time too.
The interstem was mentioned to me but I don't want to do that unless I have to

Hi Chris. I can relate to the frustration of not just having incontinence but how difficult it is to acquire the right and best products for your specific need. I would highly recommend xpmedical.com, they have great products and the owner of the company will answer any questions you have. Once finding the right product and having your insurance it is a royal pain the rear end but if you ask your doctor to write out a referral for you for a specific brand/type of diaper and have them state that is the product you need, then your insurance company should come through for you, sometimes it takes a little a brute force but I was able to get mine covered.
