abena diapers

i found out that abena diapers are no longer going to make plastic backing diapers.they are switching to cloth-like diapers sometime in 2012.if anyone use these diapers you should stock up on them.i think they are making a mistake by switching to cloth-like diapers,that's just my opinion.abena diapers are one of the better diapers even though they cost a little bit more then dry24/7 and wellness diapers.what doese everyone think about abena switching to cloth-like diapers??????

There are lots of comments about the change on other sites - I think moat manufacturers will stop making plastic backed diapers - at leat for premium ranges. People argue about the aesthetics of all this but at the end of the day as diaper is a utilitarian piece of equipment -not a fashion accessory.

I have not found clothlike briefs to be as protective they at least for me leak more often and shed fibers...they are still made of plastic so it is no environmental bonus so I I don't know how they are better

You can always wear a protective pant with it.
The problems i had with Abenas is that the padding separated and caused major leaks

I just received a case about 10 days ago, and they are indeed plastic backed. Just make sure when you order them, that you DON'T select "A/P" -- those have the new cloth-like design.

Cloth-like diapers are nothing more than manufacturers cutting costs and increasing profit(s) at our expense and comfort (I had a most painful chafing experience from cloth-like diapers back in 2006. It was so bad, I couldn't walk properly for over a week, so I feel your frustration).

Dry 24/7 are a good option, but are over-rated IMHO.
Wellness diapers are a joke.

Personally, I use Molicare Super Plus for over-night (with a booster pad) because the extended padding prevents leaks if/when I sleep on my side; and Abena L4 (formerly XPLUS, iirc) with a booster at work. I also use Forma Soft, Tena Slip Maxi (no booster) and ID Slip -- all of which are exceptionally absorbent and plastic backed.

Shop around. If you live in the USA, you have a lot more options than I do living in Canada.

I am also a Molicare fan - but now use Tena Slip Maxi, as in UK we can get them prescribed & delivered by our health service, which currently contracts with Tena.

you're very fortunate to not only have a good selection of products, but to also have them provided.
the last time I checked, coverage for diapers in Canada was only available for children (under 18) who are/were mentally delayed or seriously disabled, And since I'm neither, I never bothered to apply (I was also about 22 at the time of being told this).

i have to buy my diapers out of my pocket.i found that abena diapers are the right choice for me,i found out that abena diapers are going to keep plastic-backing for there diapers.that is good news for me.have a nice hoilday.
