Urinary Incontinence Support Group
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Stress, functional, and urge incontinence are the most common forms. Share with other support group members and learn from their stories and experiences.
Sorry to hear that you are flat on your back. I can sympathise totally with you as my back is knackered and I am in constant pain as well as loss of feeling in some limbs. Lots of heavy painkillers, one major op and another soon to follow! And, like you, urinary incontinent and now in 'nappies' 24/7. What started as a bedwetting (or more accurately a 'sleep-wetting') problem has now progressed in direct proportion to my back problems. Other than that I am fine and getting on with family life. Have you seen a specialist about your back (and your bladder)? Lying flat out is not always the best thing. Anyway I hope you are soon up and about.
I get restless legs, a constant feeling as though I want to go to the toilet and shooting pains going from the base of my spine right to the tips of my toes.
This only happens when my back is bad, not when it is ok. The worst is the feeling of wanting to go to the toilet, and not wanting to move because of the intense pain.
There have been times when I used my diaper for it's intended purpose when I was in a lot of pain, just because I read the signals wrong I thought it was one of the false signals.
On that occasion I had to wait for the health visitor to help me change. The embarrassment was overwhelming.
never mind though these things happen.
Oh forgot to say I am writing this email from my bath after my back is well and truly on the mend (again).
