I Have urinary incontinence 2 to 3 times per night I’ve had this problem for proximately the last five years however in the last year it has gotten 75% worse. I am 62 years old

I where where ever underwear at night and I put a pad under myself. I have not been able to find a diaper or a depends that is leakproof. I’ve tried at least 20 different versions women in men’s.

I have been suffering with Urinary incontinence for about five years now. I’m 62 years old.

Although I wet my bed off and on as child and through my teenage years, it was as an adult after a neck injury that it really became a problem and I had to start wearing protection. I use the TENA Slip Active Fit Maxi all-in-one adult nappy style incontinence pads. Keeping it secret has been difficult but the embarrassment of wearing nappies is nothing compared to the embarrassment of a wet bed if I am staying away so I have accepted that wearing protection is less embarrassing and I have told a small number of close friends. I think the most difficult was telling my now wife when I first met her! I have used the TENA Slip products for over 30 years now as I have found them to be the best. Unfortunately, other spinal problems and operations mean that I have to wear protection 24/7 as I have no feeling that I am wetting. For me, wearing adult nappies is the only way I can manage my incontinence successfully. The biggest difference that wearing nappies made for me was giving me back my confidence to go out. Now they are just my normal underwear. I carry a small bag with a changing kit in it as I will typically go through 2 or 3 during the day. I do sometime have leaks – wetting heavily if I am sleeping on my side and when driving long distances and not realising how wet my nappy is are typical situations. Even now only a handful of friends know and the products are so good these days that I don’t think anyone ever notices that I am wearing a nappy. In the past I used to get anxious when I was NOT wearing a nappy in case I wet but was also a bit anxious about exacerbating the problem and relying on my nappy rather than trying to go to the loo regularly. Now it is just an everyday part of my life and I am able to get on with it.

I have had overactive bladder for over 30 years. I began to use protection in my late 40s and finally diapers for overnight, I was waking up 3-4 times per night to get up and go to the bathroom because of overactive bladder. Once I made the decision to wear and use my diapers at night I wake up so much more rested. I still wake up if I need to pee, but can use my diaper and go right back to sleep. I have used cloth in the past, but am using Seni Super Plus from Amazon now and very rarely have any leaks. I use a combination of tape on diapers and pullups during the day and that has really removed a lot of stress from my life! Very comfortable with the diapers and pullups now.

I became incontinent at night {[and sometimes by day] after an emergency appendix operation for fear of sepsis, followed by whooping cough - all at the age of four. My medical records list me as a "lifelong enuretic" and I can get free disposables in UK from our National Health Service. However I currently find that I can manage better with standard terry and muslin nappies folded into cloth underpants and rubber pants, washed by hand. A rubber sheet protects my mattress.
