What job market?

I come to seek resolutions not anger or more tears.
I sat and thought about this for a long time.
Ain't no way around it, but these are the facts that we face today.
I understand that businesses want the best of the best, but what does facebook,linkedin, your length of unemployment, and credit has to do with hiring?
To make it worse, they admit they try to eliminate people for the job.
How do we suppose to react?

Yeah it all sucks - but you just have to keep playing the game... it seems everyone wants these perfect employees (young/wanting no pay) ... but no one is perfect. I agree linkedin is kind of a joke... it is just a place to see how "popular" someone is. It isn't helping me get a job. And as for people looking at facebook... well personally i think that is an invasion of someone's private live.

LinkedIn is good for Political Matters, but Facebook is an NSA Honey-Trap.

i can so relate to your note. I learned a lot from being unemployed for over 2 years (never not worked for over 20). Having it to do over again, I would have looked more quickly to assistance beyond unemployment. If you have bad credit, you really have to fix that - it's not entirely someone else's fault.

Get your credit fixed if it's a problem, there are loads of places online where you can check it and there will be local debt counselling help nearby if required. This would demonstrate to a potential employer that you have the ability to get things sorted.

With regards to Facebook, make it private if there is anything on there you wouldn't want an employer to see, start a Linked In profile and make sure matches your resume, keep everything high level on Linked In and try and reach out to as many former colleagues as you can and ask them for recommendations too...
