Ha! The hiring process....IF there is a process.

Where I live, people hire greatly on looks (believe it or not). You can have 2 applicants with virtually the same qualifications/experience. The applicant who is "seen" as prettier or more handsome usually gets the job OR they are a friend or relative of somebody who is "popular".

Qualifications, high recommendations, experience & a good interview are SECOND on the list to determine whether you are fit for the position.

What I am experiencing is that they want to pay the least they can. I interviewed for one job and they wanted to pay me 1/2 of what I was making before... I can't live on that. I can't just give away 18+ years of experience... I need to make a living. Corporations in my mind are more greedy than ever. They also want young people because they can pay them the least. Also more and more jobs have tons of criteria that I'm not sure who can meet.

The world economically is cutting cost due to greed then altered distribution, they messed up and don't deserve your service or time anyway. Eventually they will ask for more but offer nothing after hire, so I see it as one big cycle that takes and feels it doesn't have to return. Pray for them they truly are lost and care about us little if at all, or our input anyhow. Happy Holidays by the way. Do you really want to fatten their accounts anyway, after their former ways already have made us all have nothing? I don't care one ounce for their means of success because we are the ones who end up demeaned in the long run, let them go bankrupt then broke, they deserve it through law, but you also have to realize they are working only from what they know. It's a shame the elite feel they have power, but usually use it to make the rest miserable, but that is the life they chose and God will deal with them. Look at it this way, they are showing you what not to do if you believe in love and the right things to do. Power, Money , and all the rest the elite boast of as an attitude makes them not who they really are sometimes, so it's ok to completely ignore them as a way of life, even though their distorted minds will say you need them. They need help, not us to make them more wealth, but if it's not your problem, it's not your solution, so whatever you do, don't let it get you down, they did the wrong in the first place let them work themselves to pay of their own debts Remember that greed thing I spoke of, it will more than pay the cost. They will suck you dry then complain that your empty, then tell you, "you have to work harder" with unimpressive smiles and bad breath. Fuck Em', let them be miserable for a while and deny them your hands as tools. They will screw you if you keep taking it, as a standard. That is humble opinion from hands on experience as honest as ears can take. Peace

After I interviewed for a temporary job, the interviewer called me a few days later to politely inform me that he was going with another candidate because the other person was not certified in the field (which I am) and that it was more cost effective to go with the other person. So, yea, that makes sense. Save yourself some cash by placing responsibility into the hands of someone who has no idea what he/she is doing. Great plan! The job is only for a few months, so it wouldn't even be cost efficient to train the person. I would know what I was going on day one. Sadly enough, I would take the lower pay just to be able to go to work!

My experience seems to fit in with at least two of the responders. As a female upper-middle-ager with experience and qualifications, I was fired for bogus reasons after a young administrator was hired after a retirement . A young and pretty woman was hired to take my job for half the pay, and zero qualifications. I'm sure she will eventually learn the job. I try not to be bitter, but I'd like to chew her face off.

I had an interview a month ago and was told it was very impressive yet didn't get the job. I didn't have the full two years, but did use my volunteer experience to help me using that doesn't seem to help me much because if that's the case; I would already have a job. if these interviews are so great, then why can't people get hired?
