Hi all,
A little background (sorry, its a little long). I was employed at a job I was not good at, the boss would be rude to me (to the point where people would say what is her problem with you), I'd stay late to try to catch up on things (I would get in trouble even though I was not asking to be paid for the extra time). When the time came to restructure the department, I was let go. I live in Alberta so a lot of people were and still are losing their jobs. As I said, I was bad at what I did but even after being in my new position for over a year and a half (was at the company for 4 years), I thought that they would try to help me before they would lay me off.
At first I was happy. I didn't go home every day crying, feeling like a failure and not even enjoying the weekend because I'd have to go back to my own personal hell on Monday. I wasn't sitting across from some one who used to be my friend and now ignores me (no idea why, I even asked her what I did). It was great. Got a little pay out, I could enjoy a bit of the beautiful summer weather AND I already had an interview the week after being let go.
Well I'm now approaching the 3 month mark. I've had about 6 interviews. One was promising, but it sounds like they are leaning toward another candidate, one went with a better fit, three of the jobs were cancelled because the economy continues to suck and the one I went for this week ended up bringing me in under false pretences and was a sales job selling insurance. I always get amazing feedback on my interviews. I've also been going through recruiting companies to find work. I'm even looking for two part time jobs to try to keep my head above water.
I have been waking up to panic attacks for the last week. My friends keep inviting me out to do things that cost money; I can't afford to go out all the time. When I say I can't I get the its only $30! $30 can feed me for a week. I feel like a failure even though I have a degree, a business management certificate and was enrolled in an HR program. I have 6 years experience in HR. I just wish I would find something. I have EI but it only covers so much (my ex left me in a financial mess I'm still digging myself out of). All I do all day instead of being hopeful is thinking of all the mistakes I've done, why didn't I do this thing instead of that thing, omg I might end up on the street by the new year. My place is an absolute disaster; I have no motivation to clean.

Now I am living on my own and learning to fend for myself. One of my daily readers for me today has a Nigerian Proverb, "He who is carried does not know how far the town is."
