I have a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from 2011, and I was then one of ten people selected nationally for a technology apprenticeship program based in Washington D.C. in 2012. I didn't get my first job in the broadcasting industry until a year later up in Dallas (I moved there from the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas). But that career never panned out, and so I did a few temp jobs in warehousing and four months as a truck driver while living in Dallas.

Then in January of 2016 I was arrested by the Dallas police on a felony charge. And in September of that year, I agreed to a plea bargain in which I must complete four-years deferred adjudication in exchange for a dismissal and then I can be eligible to file an order of non-disclosure five years after that. Because my plea deal was for a felony charge, I've had multiple job offers rescinded because the felony charge shows up on background checks and employers can see I'm on probation even though it's not a formal conviction. I've moved back down to South Texas, not as great of a job market as Dallas but a lot quieter and safer and less people and crime down here. However, I'm unable to find work because of my probation, even though my probation requires me to "find gainful employment as far as possible".

Please, somebody help me. I can't be done with this probation until next year, Sept. 2018, at the earliest and I can't get a job because I have a pending felony charge. If anyone can provide me with EXTREMELY helpful information on where and how I can get a job, I'd appreciate it. If you have nothing to say or don't know what to tell me, don't waste your time here.
