Hello,
I was wondering why jobs so scarce because everyone think I am being lazy, but there are no openings or jobs available.
I find a job, but only a receipt that they receive my application; no further information.
This what causes the frustration because they don't say anything for weeks to months.
This process has cause me my health from the stress from family who has higher expectations than you already perceive.
The job market is not what they say it is.
They know people are hurting for jobs,so they distract us with other problems.
Me personally, is focus on a job because the doctor said if I don't work soon I will probably have another meltdown worser than my last one.
Instead of treatment center I am looking at jail time.
I try my best to look at ways to make money beside a job, I am just not focus on it like I should.
My mind is focus on job first than business so that I have a backup alternative.

people tell me i am lazy, i ask them what control do i have for jobs? i can apply, hell most of these employers dont want you to call them and they are using email to contact you if you're lucky; if you get a call and they dont have you come in for an interview, or you went to the interview gave it your best and you still didnt get hired. that's all the control you have! they still dont like that answer but nobody has a magic wand to make things better.
i was stressed so bad nothing but assholes riding my back 'do this, do that, blah blah blah!' finding a job who will train you still isn't easy to find. the help out there is terrible barely any real help same old job advice from 6-8 yrs ago that is not helping anybody land a job somewhere....

IT IS EXTREMLY annoying to know that you are applying for job after job with no positive outcome. I haven't been working now for over a year. In the beginning I didn't mind because I just had a baby. So, I didn't mind staying home to care for my young son myself as supposed to some day care nursery.
My son is now 10 months old. Regardless, prior to that, I've been searching & applying for jobs with an additional headache of trying to find someone who was willing to babysit for free.
I've been on ONE interview out of over ONE DOZEN resumes I've sent out. I was given a test & IMO, the interview went very well. We even discussed salary & she said it was what she was willing to pay. She gave me a date as when to expect to hear from her. I NEVER heard from her again. I called her office about 3 times after & left messages. I sent her a thank you e-mail after the interview. She avoided my calls.
My son's father keeps telling me that I need to find a job. And, as u can imagine, I LOST IT!! I shouted at him & told him I was doing my best. I told him, "I can't FORCE people to hire me!" I said I can only do my best; send out professionally looking resumes, dress the part, research the company & do the best I can do in the interview.
It makes me really angry that even though ppl know the economy is rough & many ppl are having a struggle finding a job, ppl feel if u aren't working for a certain period of time that u are lazy or just aren't looking for work.
It seems like since September 11, 2001 everything just went downhill & things seem to be getting worse.
@theletter12......You are sooo right! Employers ARE looking for applicants who are willing to work for the least pay (to hell with productivity & experience). I guess we don't have a choice but NOT to give up. I'm sure that we can be an asset to someone.
ever since 08 and the Repubs telling the public how the unemployed or anybody laid off is so useless and lazy. oh but wait, when they had layoffs in the 80s-90s, you were able to get a job soon and you weren't considered lazy!
i had an interview yesterday afternoon with the county library and it was great.
Keep trying and do not feed into others remarks.
When I say that that is an extremely poor way of a compliment....that is an understatement.
A "very very impressive" resume would not result in ONE interview after delivering over a dozen. If you were trying to be sarcastic, please keep your sarcasm for your next meal.
The entire global economy is hurting. Unemployment in Spain is 50% for 20-somethings. Here in the US teens are struggling to find work as many adults have taken the fastfood and other part-time, entry level jobs. More and more across our globe, people are delaying retirement because they can't afford to do so. This is a fact for many of my close relatives.
For those who are in steady work, they miss out seeing the real struggle it is to obtain even an Interview! I do not wish this struggle on them, but it is sad that they can not have any compassion for those of us who have found ourselves, for whatever reasons, unemployed.
It is a compliment.
A dozen is not a lot whatsoever.
How long does it take to send out a dozen resumes...a few days?
I can send out a dozen in a few days with good cover letters. Over a year, I send hundreds of resumes and only get a few interviews.
This is the case with most people...HUNDREDS of resumes and no job prospects.
