Life is looking good. WHAMMO. About 2 years ago my grandson went through his Bar Mitzvah and my wife promised a trip. OK, so we did not do that in 2014 because we moved to Georgia and 4 months ago put together a beautiful trip to California. 10 days. All prepaid. Ton of money. And 4 days ago I get a new job. Wow, did not tell them about the trip until I HAD the offer. Today dropped the bomb and that probably blew up THE JOB so I am in such a bad, rotten mood right now that we are going to watch THE GREAT RACE tonight. My fav film from when I was 10 years old, my wife hates slapstick but she is pissed off enoughj to watch it with me. THOROUGHLY PISSED OFF.
As frustrated as I am with my new job, at least in a similar situation they were understanding. My husband and I had tickets booked for about a month and a half after I started working. I was honest from the start about the trip and that we had booked them 6 months prior so I had no idea I'd be working, They didn't give me a problem about going and the GM actually said to not worry aout any work stuff during my absence.
In the end I used the trip to my advantage to make a business contact there, which was seen favorably.
