My advice is to keep trying new things with a physician you trust to listen to how the meds you are on are making you feel and one that is willing to try to make changes until you feel like you are doing OK . This seems to be a very long hard search for most of bipolar individuals. Good luck....keep trying
The real answer is that the reason there are so very many brain drugs out there is because they can't be trusted to give the same results from person to person - what works for Lisa does horrible things to me and undoubtedly vice-versa. Make sure you've got a psychiatrist you trust (and they have to be a real psychiatrist, one who's up on current research, not a doctor who dabbles) and experiment. The closer you get to what works for you, the less jarring the changes are and the smaller the swings - at least that's been my experience.
much for me and wind up locked up.
For almost six years now, I've been level out and able to live an so called normal life and have
turned my life around. Still have my ups and downs now I'm able to deal with it know what my
triggers are. Having a psychiatrist that you trust and works with you is the key, also staying on
my meds, attend bipolar group therpy.
It makes me steady.
