Jody you are not alone with this illness. Have you been diagnosed by a mental health professional that you do have bipolar. I f so I hope you are on medication to help you and some counseling. If you ever need to talk feel free to leave me a message. Supporting you will also help me support myself at the same time.

HI Jody, My name is Angela and I am at my worst with my bp and PTSD, I also am OCD and ADD. I have a 3 year old son who is the love of my life. I am married but with the BP at it's worst, it just adds to the stress. I have been through countless meds and therapies and haven't found something that works yet. I'm glad to have been able to see your post.

Hi Jody. I realize that you posted this last year, and I really hope that you are still coming to this site. DS has helped me for about 4 years now, and even though I am just responding, I am still BP and have been for years. Fortunately, I am being successfully treated for it. But, it does not just " go away. " I have lost so much because other people do NOT understand mental illness. They might think or say they do, but they don't have a clue about it. I also suffer from OCD to this day. I am a complete control freak, so much that my husband teases me about it. Fortunately, he actually does understand mental illness. If he did not, our marriage would have been over long ago. I do not have kids, and I admire your courage with 2 boys to take care of. You must be a wonderful mother. I also suffer from acute anxiety, which I take medication for. I completely understand your feelings about friends and other people. A person with a mental illness, is not able to " just get over it. "

i have been a single parent most of my childrens life... and the biggest part of it... i didn't know that i was bipolar and i self medicated... so that didn't make for being the mother of the year... but we got along the best we could... it is hard making it with 2 kids and being single... i am glad that you posted what you did... i hope that everything goes well for you and your family... :)
