when do they sleep through the night???
KMinCA
Our boys will be 3 months tomorrow. I keep reading and hearing from friends about their babies that slept through the night at 2 months. My boys are 2 months with their adjusted age (born @ 35 weeks) but I feel like we are still along way from sleeping through the night. They get a bottle between 830-9, and then they are up again about 1 and 5. Some nights they will still only go 3 hours. We have tried giving more at their last feeding but they just won't take it. I know every baby is different and that boys take longer as well. I go back to work in Jan and am really hoping to be a bit more rested when that happens. At this point 6 hours of straight sleep sounds like heaven. Thanks!

Quite honestly my girls did not sleep through the night until around 10 months. Wish I could say earlier, but it was a long year getting to that point. I wish you the best.

I do have to say we are very strict about our schedule and so far so good. Our boys were born at 35 wks also, they are 4mos (calendar) this Sunday. Just about 2 weeks ago we dropped the 3/4am feeding and have been slowly moving up the 11pm feeding so they're going from 10pm ("a topper") to 7am (we wake them no matter what). We slowly started giving them less and less at 4am and they just started going a little longer gradually until finally it met up w/ the 7am feeding and now we actually have to wake them but they say that will help now decrease that 10pm feeding. Otherwise we feed every 4 hrs starting at 7. The "EASY" method has worked great for us. Eat Activity Sleep You Time. Message me if you have questions. Good Luck!

My girls are almost 8 months old and they have been sleeping all night since they were 5 or 6 months I believe. It is going to take some time, I remember when my boyfriend and I were putting a little bit of cereal in their formula so that can start sleeping through that night but they didnt lol I think it is going to take time. My girls were eating 5 or 6 ounces when the started sleeping all night.

Mine were 10 months. We accidentally left on the machine that plays music and projects a turning image on the ceiling, and that did the trick for my lighter sleeper.

I am big on schedules. My twin girls slept through the night at 2 & 3 months. I gave them a bath each night, bottle, and read them a book. I also read a book called On Becoming Baby Wise and it really seemed to help. Good luck!

I agree with the schedule. It's a must! When my girls were little and still taking a bottle at night, it would be about every 4 hours... 8pm, 12am, then we could stretch it until 5 am. I would stay up and get things done, they would go back to sleep until around 8 am. It was real important to wake the other up if one got up to eat too so they were on the same schedule. They both stated sleeping through the night at 4 months. They were born at 30 weeks. that doesn't mean they will always sleep through the night, you will have other issues even when they are not eating at all during the night. We finally seperated them when one was getting teeth and up 2-4 times a night. It seemed to help both. They are now 16 months and pretty much are sound sleepers. Good luck:)

Our girls started at like 4 mos. We started and still do a dream feed. They go to bed at 7 and at 11 we sneak in and feed them in the dark. They usually don't even open their eyes. They used to sleep until about 5:30 then we dropped that feed and make it now until about 8.

Our girl started sleeping through the night consistently at about 4 or 5 months. Her twin brother on the other hand, did not start until 6 or 7 months and even now (they are 9 months), he still wakes up some nights.

My twins started sleeping through the night at about 5 months. A schedule is an absolute must. They used to wake up for a feeding at about 1 a.m every night. I gradually started stretching it out. First I would let them cry for 5 minutes....a few days later, I would let them cry for 10 minutes, then 15 minutes, and so on and so on. Eventually they started either falling back to sleep for another hour or so or just waking up later and later. And that is how we eventually got them sleeping through the night. It was hard listening to them cry some nights, but I knew it was for the greater good because their mother REALLY was starting to be able to not function from lack of sleep. Now they are 15 months, and they RARELY wake up in the middle of the night. And if they do, they fall back to sleep.
