I am not there yet, twins are not due until Dec. So I have no first hand experience. But, I would still think that either way, communication is HUGE in this situation.

Tell him how you feel, and how you need more support. Maybe if your son is the easier of the two. Have him deal with your son more so you can try and comfort your daughter. But still do it together, being in the same room or something. So he can still be part of calming your daughter, but also he can see how you do it, so maybe he will be able to in the near future.

I am sure the momma's on here who have already had their twins can help out a bit more.

Hi, I agree. You need to tell him how you feel but also try to relax the situation. Are you breast feeding or using formula? Gerber Soothe i think it is is specially made for fussy babies. My son was what they called a "lazy" eater and you had to tickle his throat to get him to drink his milk and my husband didn't have patience for that in the middle of the night. So we would switch on and off. When you husband starts to shut down because of your daughter, have him focus on the other twin. Have him go and spend quality time with the other while you calm and relax your daughter. I also found when one of my twins would get fussy, i would put them both next to each other in the pack-n -play or even in the same bouncy and they would love it. They got so used to be right with eachother they are each others security blanket. My twins just turned 2 years old almost a month ago and they are still like that sometimes. Just haev to play around with different ideas to see which works the best for you.

My husband and I both worked so we each had our assigned baby for the night. If that baby got up then you got up. I think what helped us is that there was no Mommy jobs or Daddy jobs we just did what had to be done. Sometimes I think Dads are fearful of screwing things up which causes them to distance themselves from the situation. Just be clear without being bossy and it should be good. Also ask him what he thinks should be done sometimes. I think that helps him know that you don't have all the answers too.

I know this sounds cliche' but this stage will be over before you know it. My boys are 2 now and the baby years were short, but the days were very long...lol...

My one son had reflux and we ended up putting him on meds for it. It made things much better.

Hi Karan, I am a mother of adult (32) identical daughters. First off, take a deep breathe and try to relax, You being upset will make the babies upset. Try talking with your Hubby about your feelings. If he won't listen, try to get a therapist on-board to act as a 3rd party. Sometimes men just don't understand our feelings and needs.
