fetal doppler

I am considering renting a fetal doppler but I'm not sure how easy it will be being pregnant with twins to find both heartbeats. Has anyone rented one and been successful. I'm also nervous that I won't be able to find a heartbeat and I will keep calling the dr.

Honestly I have no idea. I have thought about getting one but I am so afraid I will get obsessed!

My dr. stated to me today that it is hard to get both (or all three in my case
) heartbeats with a doppler, but that you should be able to get one... but you may just get one. They take up a lot of room and there is no way to distinguish between the two heartbeats. You may want to rent it just to reassure yourself that everything is OK.

I had no problem hearing both heartbeats. I bought one from stork radio their brand doppler was cheaper than renting it I think $174 dollars. Plus it's been fun to pass it along to a pregnant friend.

I also bought one ($99 off of EBay) and was able to hear both heartbeats. I didn't start trying until around 14 weeks though. And sometimes it took 30 minutes to find the second one and we always did.

If you do decide to get one, try to remind yourself not to panic if you don't hear the heartbeats right away or at all. It can be really hard to find them early on.
