Does anyone have a first birthday for twins coming up? What kinds of plans are you all making? I don't have to worry about this until October, but the first 6 months have sure flown by, so it will be here before we know it! ha!
Having lost many family members, I wanted my babies to have a lasting keepsake of their first birthday. A time capsule, so to speak of the thoughts and feelings of the people who shared their special day. We didn't need any more toys, or clothes, so I asked everyone to forego gifts but to come with a picture of themselves and prepared to create!
I set out a table filled with scrapbook supplies, a model page, and directions. The directions were: Have fun, there are no rules, no expectations, just tell the babies what you're thinking, what you see, what the weather is!
It was a blast! Everyone had something to do, they talked, laughed, and shared. I kept the babies busy on the floor while everyone worked at the dining room table. When we were finished, the babies had a scrapbook filled with wishes, thoughts, and much love. It cost very little because I'd already had many scrapbooking supplies. We finished with cake and more photos for the next party!
I treasure every single page of their book, and one day, when some of those people are gone, the twins will be able to read and understand how important they were to the people who shared in their very first birthday.
