I would talk to your twins doctor and see if they can get your insurance to cover the formula. My son was on Similac Alimentum ($25 a can). It was breaking us also. We got the insurance to cover it for the first 6 months. The other thing you can try is if you sign up at Similac's website and they would start sending you coupons in the mail for $5 off a can. I would get about 4-5 coupons sent to me in the mail every month. So once the insurance stopped covering it the coupons really helped. They sent then to me till my son was about 10 months old. All you have to do is give them your name, address and email address. I hope that helps a little. Good luck!

Sometimes the ped's office has formula coupons if you ask.

We were on Alimentum for awhile and that was crazy expensive! Plus it smelled so bad I could not wait to stop it. I already talked to my insurance company and they won't cover formula unless the baby is on a feeding tube. I contacted Similac and they sent me the $5 coupons once and then they stopped. Enfamil however is always sending me coupons but we are stuck on Neosure.

Johnifer - where did you sign up for the formula coupons?

BRU has only had it on sale one time in the past 6 months. I'm so mad at myself for not stockpiling more. They had it for $13.59 and I got 12 cans.

Call your ped office. They have samples and coupons. We were on formula that was $32 a can. We got a sack of 50 coupons which made it a little better not by much but better. How long do you think you will need to be on the formula? Talk to the dr and see if you can start mixing it with regular formula. Cuts down the cost a little. The Neosure really works

Have you looked at Sam's Club or Costco? We're on Enfamil and it's significantly cheaper at Sam's (cheaper than Amazon).

Our insurance company covered our formula for a year. My son was on Nutramigen and thank God it was covered because it was expensive!! I ended up being sent a lot more than we would use and sold it for less then half the price on craigs list. (I had about 15 cases left when my son was 13 months and we switched to milk) It was all sealed cans in sealed cases and you could see the expiration date on the outside. I got the idea to sell because my SIL bought formula on craigs list....from someone who had a ton of cases left over from the insurance company also. Its worth a shot to look....you save so much money.

and this may help you too....some states have programs SPECIFICALLY for infants in special need cases (like preemies) to help cover the costs of OTHER things...like putting you on WIC to cover yoru groceries an dfree yoru moeny up for the formula.

Thanks for all the advice. Neither Sam's nor Costco carry Neosure and we do not qualify for WIC. CVS pharmacy had 20% off their entire website this past weekend which brought the Neosure down to $12.59. I stocked up and got 2 months worth!

Ladies, it seems like CVS is the place to get formula! It's still 20% plus an additional $20 off an order of $80 or more. The combined discounts brings the Neosure down to $9.53 per can! I'm so excited to find this deal! :)
