Hello, I'm new to this group. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins using donor eggs. My husband and I tried for over 3 years to have a baby, and I did get pregnant once without ART but it was a blighted ovum and I miscarried by the 7th week. After starting ART I got pregnant again with IUI but the baby's heart stopped beating by the 7th week and I had a horrible miscarriage with severe hemorrhaging that landed me in the hospital, followed by a sudden onset of horrible panic attacks that almost landed me in the psychiatric ward. Despite this, we decided to move on to IVF, but no matter how high the dose of stimulant medication that I was given, I couldn't produce more than two eggs. Finally the clinic decided to harvest the two I had but upon studying them they discovered they were of extremely poor quality and would not even withstand fertilization. I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure and told that I had less than a two percent chance of conceiving using my own eggs. After researching donor eggs, my husband and I decided to go that route. Our clinic was amazing and has an in-house donor program, so we chose a wonderful donor and had several eggs successfully fertilized. I had two embryos implanted and both took, and at our 20 week Level two ultrasound last week we found out we are having a boy and a girl! I don't know anyone with twins so I am looking forward to learning from all of you about all the challenges and joys that come with multiples!
