So this is my 3rd month ttc and the last two months I never got a + on OPK's so this month i bought the Fertile-Focus saliva microscope to see if that'll work for me. I ususally didn't start using OPK's until CD 10 but I tried the saliva thing this morning and it's showing the ferning pattern which is an indication that ovulation is about to occur. The thing is that I'm only on CD 6. Can that be possible? Has anyone ever ovulated early or is it possible to O early? I'm confused.

I don't really have much to say since this is all new to me, but how long are your cycles usually? If they are only 28 days or shorter, then I guess it's possible? I know I've seen all the women here say that when you get a +OPK it means you will O within 48-72hrs from then, so depending on the window is on your monitor, maybe you will O within the next few days, putting you around possibly day 10-12, which would then possibly work for a 28day cycle.

Did any of that make sense? I feel like I just babbled!

Hopefully someone else can give you a better answer!

Did you try using an OPK today when you saw the ferning? When I got pregnant last time, I had started using my OPKs on CD 6 as soon as AF was over (b/c I am compulsive like that) and lo and behold, my OPK was positive on CD 8 or 9..if I hadn't tested so early, we may have missed it!! So yes, it is possible in my opinion!! But try an OPK today and you will have a better idea!

My cycles usually run 29-31 days. Last two cycles i started using OPK's on CD 10 and never got a darn smiley! Either I'm not ovulating or I ovulated too early. This all so new and confusing to me but I'm betting better at it. Thanks for any advice girls!

I just started using the ferning microscope this cycle and I noticed what I thought was ferning for a couple of days but ended up being transitional. So it's possible you either a) have transitional ferning and you're going to fern even more in the next couple of days or b) you ovulate early or c) both!

I got a + OPK on CD 10 once so I believe it is possible to O early. My cycle was only 21 days that month.

Well I've been using OPK's last 3 days and were all negative. Also my saliva no longer shows ferning so I hope that was just my hormones and I will still O ths month or it'll be a waste of a month. Why can't getting pregnant be easy!?
