I'm actually in about the same position you are. Yes, it is possible, although it's really hard to tell when you will start ovulating again. I miscarried three weeks ago and we've been preventing pregnancy until I have one cycle, except for one "oops" moment...hey, we'll see.
Anyway, it certainly is possible!

I know this discussion topic was back in May, but I just had a d&c 2.5 weeks ago and was wondering how it worked out for anyone who TTC before the first period after a d&c? Personally I'm still bleeding and I know the OPK might not be accurate until I've had 1 complete cycle, but I still want to try. I know I risk myself having a mc again but the timing won't be good for us for another 4-5 months. Does anyone have any feedback? Did it work for anyone out there so soon after d&c? I guess I'm a little impatient and also just want to be pregnant again.

Robyn, I'm SO sorry for your loss. OPK's may or may not be accurate since they can pick up whatever HCG is still left in your system too until that clears out. But it's perfectly natural to be impatient to be pregnant again. After my miscarriage, I was almost obsessed with ttc until we conceived. As for us, we didn't get pregnant again before I got AF, it took 5 cycles. But, from what I've read, there are two reasons to wait one cycle - making the pregnancy easier to date, and making sure your uterine lining is built back up. Of course the dating aspect of it isn't really important. And from what I've read and personal experiences that I've heard, there really isn't that much risk if you get pregnant again immediately. If your body is able to conceive and the baby implant, your body knows it's ready. Statistically, there's a slightly higher chance of miscarriage, but not a significant difference. I say, if you feel ready, try again. Of course asking your doctor would be best, so if you really have concerns I'd say give your OB's office a call. If they say wait, ask them reasons and ask what the risk is for not waiting.
*HUGS* Miscarriage isn't something you get over, but it does get better. I'm 20 weeks along and even though I still have fear, and still miss the babies I lost, things are looking up. Good luck and blessings to you.

Hey just wanted to say I am in exactly the same boat. The gyneacologist told us that we should wait until my first cycle post mc, however my GP and the mc info leaflets told us there is no reason we cant start trying straight away, so that is what we did. Its been 3 weeks now.

Well ladies, my ttc didn't work. I got my period and now I'm going to have to wait till May because the timing won't be right for my husband and I with our work schedules. Is it wrong that I've been considering asking the doctor how to help me get preg w/ twins? I want more kids for sure, but I'm feeling like I want this next pregnancy to be twins. I guess it can't be controlled. Any thoughts on what I should do? Has anyone wanted multiples and their doctors helped them?

well 4 weeks post mc and just did a pregnancy test its negative! :(
