hey everyone,
I'm fairly new here. My story seems similar to many others here:
-my husband and I are both 31 and have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years (actively for about 6 months)
- I have "undiagnosed infertility" and was put on Clomid with IUI
-I just had my second failed cycle and am staring my third
My fertility specialist has mentioned many times that the success rate with Clomid and IUI is low and that she wants to try 3-4 times and then move on to IVF. That seems like a drastic jump to me. I am responding well to the Clomid, I ovulate and have mature follicles. My husband has no issues. My question is: how do I tell my doctor that I don't want to rush into IVF until much later and only if we have to ...it's very expensive and I don't feel I'm at that stage yet. I don't want to doubt her professional opinion but I also want to be sensible.

I would just let the doctor know that you're not ready for that step. Remember that you are the patient and you are the one who's giving them business.
That's weird that your doctor mentioned that IUI has a low success rate when others have had success. Did you get tested for estrogen and progesterone?
