We've been ttc for 17 months.  In that time I've had 3 friends (2 of them have already had their babies) and 3 co-workers get pregnant.  The rest of my co-workers keep joking about "who's next?" and "it's your turn".  I just laugh and shrug it off, but really it feels like, "Ok, thanks for bringing up this really painful subject on a semi-regular basis." To put it ineloquently - this fucking sucks. Just need to vent to someone who understands...

I understand, the same thing happens to me. I'm conflicted between not wanting to share with people at work and maybe just telling someone so that they will stop asking. I try not to get too upset, I don't know if they know how painful it is to bring it up.

I also feel the same, I keep asking if there is something wrong with me. My fiancé and I have been trying for a year and coworkers seem to keep bringing it up and just make me feel worse.

I understand too! It is so hard trying and dealing with a period every month. I find I am always calculating and temperature tracking and it never comes to anything. Try to relax, stress won't help. Maybe we should all book really exciting things to do each month that you can't do pregnant so at least when the period comes we can be like 'oh at least I don't have to cancel skydive etc.' I feel for you xx

I have been trying for 17 months as well. I started just to tell people how long we have tried for and a lot have stopped asking.

This really reaches my heart. This is my second month TTC and I'm really frustrated with my progress (lack theroff) so far. Everyone around me, including my two best friends and people at work are pregnant and joke all the time about how I'm next. Like NO KIDDING but it increases my anxiety like no other.

Hi hun, OMG I know exactly how you feel! This is my third month TTC and every time I get my period or I see that negative result my heart drops and I feel overwhelmed with grief, so many people at work are pregnant, a few friends keep asking me if i'm pregnant yet (my fault for telling them i'm trying) then my partners sister announced to us that she is expecting! I hate this it really really sucks!!! I think the previous suggestion above about us getting together and doing something fun sounds great!!

7 months TTC here sometimes it feels like it is never going to happen and we have been doing everything possible to get pregnant--using OPKs, ovacue, BBT monitoring, monitoring CM, and reading book after book on TTC and still no luck my husband goes to the doctor this week and I go in a couple weeks so hopefully we will get some insight

20 months TTC. Didn't even realize it's been that long until now. I didn't start struggling with it emotionally until about 6 months ago. Agreed that people (esp coworkers) can be really insensitive, asking all the time. I've been married 4+ years now so pretty much everyone in our lives wants to know why we don't have kids yet (also were in our mid 30s). I'm now struggling to be happy for friends and family announcing their pregnancies which makes me feel like a terrible person!
