2 months ago my dr prescribed progesterone from day 16 to 25, based on the assumption that I ovulate cd14. At the time I had no clue if I ovulated regularly on that day or not. Since then I've been charting and can now confirm that this cycle I ovulated cd 10. So should I assume that I should start taking the progesterone tonight ( 2 days after ovulation) or wait til day 16 ? I'm thinking that if I wait til cd 16, it will be too late. My dr is on vacation until tuesday and I have no one else I can ask. Does anyone else have any experience of taking progesterone and if your dr has told you to start to take 2 days after ovulation so the lining is already thickened when the egg reaches the uterus. This would make sense to me!!

My doctor said that I should start progesterone 3 DPO.

I've had a look on the internet and that seems to be the general rule. I would say that when this was first prescribed, I hadn't charted at all so was unable to say when my average OV day is in any given cycle. Sad that my old Dr didn't see fit to explain that it's the number of DPO that counts and not the CD number :)
I've just taken one, my new Dr said it wouldn't matter what time of day. I can tell you I'm feeling particularly woozy. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere or do anything and will perhaps take before bedtime tomorrow :)
I'm not sure if I'm CD 2 or 3, but I'd rather take it just to be on the safe side!
