Period with no ovulation...possible?

Hey everyone,
I am just looking for other people's opinions or possible insights into this.

My husband and I have been TTC for a year, and I am on a waiting list to go and see an OBGYN.

I started charting my BBT and CM 3 months ago so if I have to go to the OBGYN I have charting to show them in case they ask (I have been using the Fertility Friend app which is amazing!)

At the beginning of my most recent cycle, I had a message pop up saying that in the last three cycles, based on BBT and CM, that no ovulation is detected. I decided this month I am going to take ovulation tests to be sure. I have a 31 day cycle, so I started testing on day 14. Today is day 16 and no LH surge yet. Has anyone ever heard of having a regular period and cycle, but no ovulation??? I am kind of nervous that may be happening :(

It is possible for someone to have a period and not ovulate. I've also heard you can ovulate and not get a regular period every month as well. I think opk would be the better choice. I tried fertility friend, which is a great site with helping you track, but if you don't have a regular cycle or if your bbt is off just slightly it can mess up the results. I'm trying the clear blue opk with the smiley faces, I figure I can't get too badly mixed signals. I used answers opk kits where the test has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. I could never be 100% sure that it was dark enough, lol. Good luck to you, and its a great idea to bring in as much info as you can to your doctor when you get in.

Well, I ovulate and my basal chart never reflected it. Not one time. I finally stopped taking it every day. OPK's are a great idea. Some ladies ovulate later in their cycle - I have a 31-35 day cycle and usually do not ovulate till day 20 or 21.

Good luck with the OPK! The smiley face one is best. I used them for a while before getting on the monitor. It's expensive, but it was given to me so I changed. Otherwise the smiley works great! Keep using the OPK, you may just have a late ovulation day. Or if no ovulation, that is good info to take to the Dr. You can basically diagnose yourself!

Any number of meds can be given to help you ovulate, but I think Clomid is the most used. I have not used it, but it can help jump start your body.

Hey ladies!
Thanks so much for the replies! I am on day 20 and still waiting for the LH surge. I just bought the regular ovulation tests (where the surge line hsd to be as dark or darker than the test line). I started testing on day 14 and have had a light surge line everyday. So crossing my fingers the full surge happens soon! I am going to try the OPK next month if these tests don't work, just to be sure!
