You gotta get into your doc sooner than just for a regular exam at this point! You absolutely should see someone...having a regular cycle etc. means you are a good candidate and your insurance will cover infertility related exams (at least most do). I'd call them and check - fill them in on your situation and ask them to advise, but go there!!!

I was in the same boat as you while trying to conceive (im now at 7 weeks).

Did you know that even with perfect timing, healthy sperm and egg, healthy body etc there is only a 20% chance of successful conception? Humans have one of the lowest conception rates among animals (according to my OBGYN).

See your doctor get yourself checked for general health and for thyroid issues especially (an over or under active thyroid mades it extremly difficult to get pregnant).

If you have been given a general once over and you come back clear you may want to talk to your partner about having a seminanalysis. The only reason that i suggest this over you having a more detailed analysis is that it is much much easier for them me and totall non-invasive. For women it is much harder.

To be honnest, for me personally, the one thing I found that helped was to relax (easier said than done i know!). I was forced into bed rest for 2 weeks and then had one more week of doing virtually nothing after that... while my partner and i had been trying before i was injured, during that rest time frame i though nothing of pregnancy, babies etc. My boday was forced to sleep, eat healthy and chill. and volia! im now what my younger sister calls 'an easy bake oven'.

One last note. It takes the average couple 12 months to get pregnant, with perfect conditions, and while that time frame may seem long please remember its only 12-13 trys at getting knocked up, its not a whole lot.

lovinsbobo, cute kitty by the way - I feel your pain - w/ regular 32 - 34 day cycles, I too have not gone to see the doctor & know I should - been using the clearblue digital ovulation kit b/c I can't deal w/ strips & temps - no luck ttc for a year - even tried the first response fertility test which tests for pregnancy potential & result was ok but can't rely on that only - I'm a little worried about the next step & whatever different tests I would need to receive - husband went for a semen analysis in November & although count was a little low, his doctor did not seem concerned w/ any of his test results - so I suppose it's my turn - I keep saying definitely next month & then an entire month flies by....

Even though you are ovulating (which is a great thing because there is an egg available) do you know if your fallopian tubes are open? If one or both of them are blocked -it doesn't matter if you ovulate three eggs a cycle -the sperm cannot meet the egg. If only one of them is blocked that means if you ovulate from that side then that month the sperm can not get to the egg. Some women tend to ovulate more from one ovary some women alternate sides monthly...it just depends on your body.
The other question is yes could it possibly be your husband? Possibly.

Since you've been pregnant before you must have at least one tube open. Your husband could have a low sperm count and still have gotten you pregnant.

If you've been ovulating every month and have been charting and timing intercourse appropirately for more than 4months you need to make an appt. with your doctor to see what's going on.

A semen analysis is roughly $200-250 depending on your insurance and where you go.

A HSG (test to see if your tubes are open) is around $1300 depending where you go.

Risk factors for blocked tubes are if you've had STD(s), pelvic inflammitory disase, previous pelvic surgery and prev. pregnancies.

Also factor in stress and travel in the months of trying- this affects everything too.

I doubt I will be able to convince my husband to get a semen analysis, at this point, I think that he thinks he is fine since I have been pregnant before. There are many things that can hinder your chances of conceiving even if you are ovulationg -- problems with just you (e.g. short lutien (sp?) cycle, uterine lining too thin for implantation, blocked fallopian tubes, etc.), problems with your husband (e.g. sperm count, deformed sperm), or problems specific to the two of you as a couple (e.g. his sperm may not survive long enough inside your body). You won't really know until you see a doctor and get some tests done -- good luck!
